So what do you want them to do, guess if the guy gets a hit or strikes out?

Francouer and Glavine already do a fair bit of guessing which pitch is coming next.

Yeah. I’m blaming him indirectly for the 3 run shot last night Keuchel gave up. At the very least that shoulda been a FC.

No, but I wouldn’t mind if they talked about the game and kept the focus there instead of on Gary Sinise. If you read the article or even the parts I quoted, it makes the point that you can’t expect to gain new fans when the broadcaster isn’t even interested in the game.

Why would that matter if all they are doing is telling you what already happened, according to the article you posted?

That’s not what the article says at all. The article says the broadcasters should talk about the strategy of the game and explain the confrontation between batter and pitcher. In another part that I didn’t quote, the author talks about Tony Romo’s style in football, and how he explains strategic decisions made by offenses and defense and forecasts how those will impact the game.

They need to do a far better job. They are consistently ranked in lower third of the league in announcer rankings. I watch most games on the visiting teams stream through a VPN they are so bad. Luckily this series I’ve been able to watch the Reds. Not great but Brantley has been far better than I remember.

I think the problem is Chip who brings down every color commentator they cycle through.

Francouer and Glavine do that... no to the extent of predicting shite like Romo does, but they often talk about what pitch comes next considering the situation. Earlier, they were discussing how much the game has changed with the Reds throwing so many 3-2 breaking balls.

Yeah the Sinise interview sucked, but that was out of their control, that was something that was scheduled by Sinise's publicist and Fox Sports South execs jumped all over it because it's Lt. Dan.

I enjoyed them talking about how many breaking balls are thrown on 3-2 counts. I’m not criticizing Glavine and Francoeur; I like them. I’m criticizing the producers for choosing to spend a half inning talking to an actor. The article is primarily about production, hence the title. I’m also criticizing Chip for spending a half inning guessing the attendance.

Riley has had some decent swings this series. Still probably needs to go back down until September call-ups, but it's encouraging.

ETA: Camargo meanwhile...

This is an awful, awful lineup to have against Gray’s slider. Very strange day to sit Freddie for Riley.

Camargo and Flowers shouldn’t be seeing the field in any capacity at this point. They are flat out pathetic with the bat, and their gloves aren’t much better than that.
