I'm not sure why so many people seem to be blowing this off as just a normal slump. This is a long, long stretch of games where he hasn't been able to hit the ball hard in the air. I'm at the point where I'm assuming this is who he's going to be for the rest of the season.

We should honestly sit him if he’s not healthy, and he’s obviously not healthy.

I've been assuming for a while that its taking him some time to get back to 100% and anything we get out of him is kind of a bonus. He really needs to be moved down in the order, but I don't think they will unless it gets outright ugly.

Well at least he didn't give up 6 in the first inning while making a bazillion dollars like Cole just did

I have a hard time buying this because he was so damn good when he first came back. He was hitting piss rockets everywhere and running like a gazelle.

I wonder if DHing him for a few weeks or so would help?

Yeah, thats true. It was just such a dramatic dip that I don't think just playing the field would cause it, there might be something else going on.

It couldn't hurt to DH him, but I feel like the team doesn't want to take the defensive hit and probably doesn't feel like him playing the field is going to cause any long term damage even though it might be hurting him short term.

Morton with a sub 2.30 ERA and 4th in baseball in strikeouts since June 1 but he still seems like he stinks because he gets zero runs scored for him and always seems to have an inning in the middle innings where he gives up a couple runs.

No BJ, Didi would not be behind second base with Ahsoona batting.
