Is anybody holding AA's feet to the fire? I know it's not his job, but Nitkowski is starting twitter wars with anybody that dares criticize AA. How anyone can be a sunshine pumper today is baffling.

They're employed by the team, so they can't really do that.

Just highlights how bad of a place AA has put them in where they have to defend something that is clearly indefensable.

You are going to see that in full force during the broadcast tonight, if AA actually shows up to the booth for the customary post-deadline interview during an inning.

The lack of moves is clearly defensible. Just because many of you are acting like 14 year old girls doesn’t make anything indefensible. And the Braves are smart not to destroy their farm system for rentals. We won a World Series without Acuna so all this talk of missing our “window” is laughable. We have a team that is built to compete year after year.

And, yes, we’ve won 2 playoff games lately because our superstar pitchers all sucked, ie Max Fried. And then you cried when we didn’t empty our bank account for him. Yes, Schwellenbach and Strider’s injuries suck and hurt, but that doesn’t mean you empty your farm out of panic. Skubal could just as easily go down. We have a ticket for the playoffs so let’s see who gets hot when it counts. But I like knowing we’ll be in the playoffs for the foreseeable future because we didn’t sell our future for a crapshoot kind of guy.

I think it's pretty easy to say he neglected it this year, but it started in the offseason. I don't think it's really been our problem in the past. Two years ago, we had Fried, Sale and Schwellenbach (who was on a dominant run), but Sale got hurt right before the playoffs, and Schwellenbach had to pitch that Monday game, so he wasn't available. Then, in the wild card series, Fried laid an egg, but it didn't matter because the offense didn't show up in either game. And a similar problem happened in previous years with late injuries, Fried laying an egg, and the offense not showing up. We had the good Strider along with Fried, and still couldn't get it done in '23, and the year before that, Strider was hurt and Fried also laid an egg, AND the offense was terrible.

This year is different because we already knew we had a ton of guys either injured, or returning from injury, and so it was paramount to be proactive before the season to address that, but AA didn't. And now he didn't, again.

Now we have to hope that Schwellenbach stays on track to return in September and can get up to playoff caliber form within about three weeks after that. A lot to ask or expect, but that seems to be the Braves' plan.
