Heard on postgame radio that Max had a tight glute muscle.

Seems like teams are realizing that if you throw the ball into the others batter box to Harris, he’ll lunge.

Hoping he can make that adjustment soon

I've been saying for a while that I don't know why anyone throws him a strike. He has proven himself on anything in the zone. But he isn't laying off almost anything.

I hope he makes the adjustment, too, but until he does, I'll keep scratching my head every time he gets a strike to hit.

Mets are pushing Max Scherzer’s next start back so he can pitch game one of the Braves series next week. Showalter denies it was done so Scherzer could pitch against Braves instead of Marlins.

I don't know why he would deny it. That will be an important series.

Nice. I want to make it to a Strider start. Haven’t been able to see him live yet.

Well that means they'll be facing Sandy Alcantara on Sunday with some fill in starter, because they don't have an off day to just push the whole rotation back a day. That should be a loss for them. If we then beat Max on Monday, that would be a double kick in their pants.

and since we started our run of division titles, we've fared pretty well against Scherzer compared to the rest of the league. For the last few years he has typically had around a 3 ERA against us which is one of the better offensive outputs against him as a team.

Yep, they have, indeed. We tend to take him deep fairly often, which is how you gotta beat someone like him. I certainly like our chances of continuing that trend, and we'll have Fried on the mound in that game.

I wonder if that's why Snit took Fried out after only 82 pitches last night. Maybe he wanted to make sure he'd be nice and fresh to take that game deep. Considering our 'pen had to cover nine innings over the previous two games, I was rather surprised at the move.

They said his right glute tightened up and they wanted to be cautious.

Why deny it? The Braves pushed a Fried start back to get him matched up with the Mets earlier this season.

Not sure why this got downvoted, because it definitely happened, and I'm glad Snitker did it. It was going into that four game series in NY where we had the doubleheader in the middle.
