Team should strongly consider putting Arcia on the DL and calling up Nacho. I'm guessing this tooth issue is going to hurt Arcia's ability to eat and I'll bet he's lost some weight and strength over the last week or so.
Also, Eli White is swinging a good bat in Gwinnett. They should call him up and send Wall back down or put Laureano on the DL.

I'm with Broski on Morton. I appreciate everything Morton has done for the Braves, and he could be a 5th starter if all else fails, but not at that price.Realistically, time has caught up to him and IMO he doesn't provide the team with a chance to win as often as someone with his contract should.
We already have the 5th starter of AAAA rotation that all but guarantees a loss each time they start. Schwellenbach isn't Strider. They keep rolling these kids out who are not ready hoping one hits. I don't want to hear about how 'Well, if so and so wasn't hurt everything would be just great!'. That's not how it happens. People get hurt each year and there are 3-4 always down for TJ surgery anymore it seems. There is no real depth, as they traded away the best prospects, so there is no way to recoup the losses currently because their cheap asses will not spend some of the money the 'saved' by giving Ozzie/Acuna/others little contracts. They overpaid Morton, period. They were in the same position last year towards the end of the year rolling these kids out, and it didn't work out then either.
When you add in the fact that outside of Ozuna most everyone else has sucked big donkey balls at the plate, and no it isn't bad luck when it has been happening since March, it exacerbates the issue. Injuries to stars (who weren't playing like stars, at all), losing Wash/EY, and God knows what else has compounded the issues even more. It is a train derailment that will take some time to right itself, and probably just about the time they let Fried walk.
They should have kept Freeman, Contreas, and Langoliers. They made an overly complicated set of trades that hasn't panned out well to date. Water under the bridge now, but it sucks.
We will see how it shakes out after the All Star break. Hopefully something will turn around.

Quick, ask for something else.
Also just signed Eddie to a minor league deal. Band getting back together, watch out Philly!

No harm in doing it, but it does feel a tad desperate.
Outside of one month last season, Eddie hasn't been an MLB player since 2022. I doubt he suddenly becomes one again just because we need an OF.

The broadcast team has been carrying that narrative for months, by showing meaningless "barreled balls" and exit velocity numbers.
My theory is that the league changed the ball to prepare for the robo strike zone coming, and those stats don’t mean as much as they have in the past anymore with a deader ball. Can’t have pitchers being held to a tighter, more accurate strike zone with an extremely live ball.

I've come to learn that just about anything is possible, so you could be right. I'm just not sure how it would be that it seems to be effecting the Braves more than other teams who are hitting so much better than them right now, if it's a dead ball, when this was supposed to be the deepest lineup in the league. Before Acuna and Harris were hurt, it was just as bad.
I just don't believe those exit velocities are very accurate. You can see when a ball is well hit and when it isn't, and the numbers do not seem to match reality with this team. I still don't know how a ball can be topped into the ground and register as a hard hit ball on Statcast. That defies physics.
