Literally just one solid base hit will score Dansby.

Gonna have Dans at second so that’s a plus. We’ve been given more than enough chances. It’s time to end ir

Well... Here we go again. Let's see if someone can come through.

It's obvious we're struggling with the small stuff, so let's just hit one out and call it a day.

Need to get the run in here, if the Nats have Robles on second and the top of their order up I have a feeling they get him in. Need to safe the bullpen for the Mets too.

While true, you kinda outlined in the rest of your post why. When you’re whole lineup can hit it out at any time, they probably didn’t grow up bunting a whole lot and simply aren’t good at it. And with analytics revealing statistically just how important outs are (it’s why stolen bases are so far down—it’s just not a smart risk/reward save for a handful of guys in the whole league), it’s probably not the most efficient use of time to work on it as much as you’d need to to be good at it. Especially when everybody coming out of the end of everybody’s bullpens are throwing upper 90s.

I'm ok with them walking Olson. That really forces them to pitch to Riley, not wanting to load the bases.

I don’t know much about all the 3rd basemen in the NL, but surely Snit can justify adding Riley as a reserve despite his low B.A., considering all his other numbers, how clutch he is, and how good a 3B he plays, huh?

Obviously, we want to win the division, but we're about to be 6 clear of San Diego for the first wild card spot.

Padres are losing 8-0 to the Giants right now.

How many wild card teams are there now? Is the Wild Card game between the first and second wild card teams?

He's hitting .282 now. Not even a low average. He should be in, yes. At least I think so. We don't need to have a bunch of 1st basemen taking up spots this year, looking at the guys after Goldy and Alonso. Riley has better overall numbers than Freeman, and Cron plays in Coors. Make Riley the third 3rd baseman.

Um, he is at .282. That ain't low. He also has a .897 OPS w/23 HR's and 56 RBI's.

He keeps up this pace into the 2nd half and he's in the MVP race.

1.5 games back. frick yeah!
