Anderson is literally recovering from TJ, he's not being traded.

Lol wut? That's not how that works.

Soroka has zero value right now

Again, lol wut? Like Anderson, his value is tied to what he was in the past and a team thinking they can unlock that again. He has more value now than he would if he continues to struggle from here on out.

Wright isn't tradable with a shoulder injury.

Again, not how this works at all. Teams, especially rebuilding teams, trade for guys who won't factor into this season all the time.

Watched on delay. Another nice comeback

- Ozuna’s turnaround looks real
- AJSS looks really promising, but I don’t think he’s ready for a starters workload. Velocity dropped to 91ish in the 6th. As he matures, he should be able to maintain velocity much better and may even see an uptick
- Disappointing about Lee. Didn’t realize he will be out that long
- Yates has looked much better lately
- I could see trading one of Shuster/Dodd. I can’t see trading Soroka/Anderson. Think the potential prize if they can get back to where they were is much higher than the return we’d get back. Don’t see any way Wright gets traded.

There's literally zero chance we trade Shuster unless it is part of some crazy deal that gets us an Ohtani rental for the rest of the season.

Not a chance in hell that's happening.

If he just gives us a chance to win after 5 innings every 5-6 days, then he has done his job.

More likely than trading Wright imo

If Fried and Wright come back there is no place for Shuster in the rotation. And with the emergence of Elder and AJSS somebody has to be the odd man out

I don't believe Wright is going to be much of a factor this season. He's probably out until at least late August/early September.

Well yes, of course

My point was it’s really encouraging that he was able to survive with diminished stuff in the later innings, but I’m not sure that is sustainable

Yeah? Name me people with TJ that have been traded, or someone recovering from shoulder injury that has been traded. Much less someone decent.

I wasn't saying they aren't allowed to be traded, I'm saying they won't because they have zero value while injured. Hitters are barely traded while on the IL/DL, much less pitchers.

We'd be getting pennies on the dollar even if we did, it would be pointless.

Even before Wright had his injury problems, I think what he was last season is the best he will ever be, especially with the shift gone.

The odd man out would be Dodd.

The rotation would be
1.Max when he comes back
2.Strider
3. Elder
4.Chuck
5.Shuster/AJSS.

You need more than 5 especially coming down the stretch whether it'd be for extra rest or injury.

Happens in the minors all the time.

Does Max Fried count?

Agreed, he would have been an ideal trade high candidate after last season if we had the depth of pitching. Hard to justify that sort of move though, much like Anderson after 2021.

My post said

He’d be in the 5 with some combination of Shuster/Dodd/Soroka/AJSS as the 6th man.

We can all agree to disagree on this, but don’t think it’s that unlikely for one of Dodd/Shuster to get traded. I agree that Dodd is more likely.

And yes, I know it may be awhile before Wright comes back

We can agree to disagree, but I think you are the only one in this discussion that would even think about trading Shuster.

I promise you, they have Shuster marked down to fill a rotation spot since we have Charlie on his last leg and Fried's uncertainty.

They aren't letting him go unless it's something that is too good to pass up.

Yes it does, but we are talking about major league players, not minor league players. I can't think of any pitchers with major surgery or shoulder issues being traded off the DL. Feel free to prove me wrong, I'm not trying to claim to have a perfect memory over here, hah.
