Why the insistence on playing Rosario over Hilliard?

Hilliard is a glorified AAA player. Eddie hits righties well when he’s hot.

The Diamondbacks are a good team. Glad we’re hot.

Tied with the Dodgers for the best record in the NL Does that make them better than Atlanta?

There's nothing glorified about Hilliard, who I don't think has a hit since April

Because Rosario makes more money than Hilliard. You don't justify paying players millions of dollars and them benched in favor of scrubs

Eddie hasn't hit righties well since the end of the 2021 season, or anyone really. He actually has reverse splits this year, he is not hitting righties at all.
And him being hot at this point is basically posting a mid .700 OPS during his best streaks. Combine that with his subpar defense and you have the negative WAR player he's been this year. Not much to lose trying pretty much anyone out there when the guy out there provides nothing.

The one positive playing them is that it's a very offense friendly ballpark, which should hopefully wake up the bats a bit (we've typically hit well there).
Another positive for me is that I'll get to see them in person tomorrow.

Well... Hilliard straight up hasn't hit anyone

RP feels a lot worse than that.
LF and CF have been rough. Hopefully Harris changes that for CF. I don’t really have any hope for LF this year.

Hilliard is a big pile of meh too, but he at least has produced a positive WAR this season, unlike Eddie.
We need a trade but have jack crap to give up. Be nice to at least give Grissom a run in LF to see how he does maybe, couldn't do much worse. It still pisses me off we have away Malloy for nothing.

I mean, I knew these guys were bad when they played, but holy crap.
Thank goodness for Arcia and thank goodness for Elder. We already knew that, but the WAR numbers make it even more clear.
It's crazy how much better we'd probably feel about the offense right now if we'd just signed Joc instead of Eddie. A Joc/Pillar platoon would look pretty sweet right about now.
