Yes he has. Getting that home run problem under control has been great.

How is Riley late on fastballs now while still chasing sliders?

This isn't just a slump. Something is wrong.

I think he wants to hit the slider, which is why he swings at everything that spins, and isn't ready for the fastball. But then, I'm just guessing. Usually he's been a guy who hunts fastballs, but he gets so many sliders, because he struggles to lay off, that it seems he's sitting on it. Problem is he's not getting sliders in the zone, because why would he?

I don't know. Just trying to make sense of it.

I know. That's what I was saying. He keeps chasing it, so he keeps getting it, and because he keeps getting it, he's not ready for the fastball. That's my theory.

My point is before when he was chasing sliders, he was still demolishing fastballs. Not the case now.

Also, Hilliard has officially come back to earth as an AAA player.

I know Shewmake has never really hit at any level, but wow. He must be unfathomably bad for the Braves to pretty openly say they'd rather have Adrianza on the big league roster than him.

He wasn't chasing them consistently. That's why he got so much better before the contract he signed. He started laying off crap, got more strikes, and hit them. Right now, he can't lay off anything, so he's getting a steady diet of junky sliders, and looks slow to react to the fastball.

Dude, they said they wanted him over Grissom.

He's definitely a bad hitter. I guess they're leaving him down there in hopes he starts to hit. It seems like this is who he is at this point, though. Which was my expectation the day they drafted him. I was mad at that pick. Hoped to be proven wrong, but it is what it is.

this is random, but I thought Nimmo was my most-hated Met, but ratfrick McNeil might have surpassed him.

They talked about him during the first game. They are not rushing him back, with no timetable for his return.

Eddie was hitting the ball hard a lot early but was getting unlucky. He's always hit when he's been healthy throughout his career.

He's safe but I expect to get fricked by this.
