Man, would like to see Bill back in there tonight. Marcell had a good Sept. But at least Bill grinds ABs

Love starting Strider, even if he does only go 3. Shove it up their arse for 3 and put doubt in their heads and remind us we’re the reigning WS champs. Even if we don’t score against Nola while Strider’s in there, just the way he goes right after guys and shoves with no fricks given can have a positive psychological effect on the whole team. Worst case, he gets lit up and we burn a couple arms who are on the roster JUST to get burned, and we lose a game to Nola that we were likely to lose anyway (without a really good outing by the starter). Then we just have to have our most experienced post-season pitcher win 1 game in Philly against what I assume is gonna be a bullpen game for them, then come back to the ATL and hand the ball to our ace—at home—in a 1 game series.

I like the move and think it’s the right one—even if it doesn’t work out. The decision-making is sound. We’ve got to get 27 more outs with a lead 2 more times in 3 games anyway. Starting Strider today or tomorrow isn’t gonna change that fact.

But we’ve gotta get Dansby and Riley going or this pitching shite may just be moot. We can’t waste this great start Ronnie’s gotten off to this series.

We drew three 3-ball counts through the first two times in the order in game 2, Ozuna had two of them.

I know he stayed in for the rest of Game 2, but is his wing still good from being hit by that pitch?

Just haven't heard much

I mean, he's in the lineup today and stayed in the game after he got hit. Just got to assume he lost feeling for a bit in his hand, but regained it. Good thing we had a long inning.

Anytime he's plunked I instantly assume the worst, + it wasn't inspiring the most confidence with the spirited debate between trainers.

Hoping that it sets the lad on fire and he punishes the Phillies the rest of the way

Yea… sorry lsu baws.. I’ve just never been really impressed with Nola. He’s a good pitcher. I just don’t think he’s an elite pitcher like some folks act like he is sometimes

did he walk in either AB?

difference between getting 3 easy pitches out of the zone to lay off of and grinding ABs

You think Contreras (or anyone on this team for that matter) draws walks?

I'll put it another way. Ozuna in his first 2 AB's saw more total pitches than any other Brave in the lineup.

The HBP could be the spark for a run for this team. The energy at Truist completely changed during those few minutes. The crowd was giving it to Wheeler with some vengeance and then when Acuna finally went to first the crowd went nuts. Wheeler didn't exactly fall apart or anything, but I think the sequence got to him just a bit and that was all the Braves needed.

It’s pretty clear Spencer Strider will not pitch more than a few innings. The Braves don’t expect him to go deep. Brian Snitker said they’ve got a best-case scenario and target number in mind for how long Strider can go, but declined to reveal that.

okay, he had 3-0 count on three pitches that weren't close. my point is, it is my opinion that Bill consistently provides more competitive ABs, don't really care about a one game sample where Ozuna happen to be batting when Wheeler threw 3 straight out of the zone.

Contreras didn't draw a single walk in September or October.

Ozuna drew 4 despite having 20 less AB's in the same span.

A lead off HR for Acuña today would be nice. Excited to see Strider back on the mound.

Ok, now how about the last 2 months? That's a tad more relevant.

Contreras post all star break has been swinging at everything. The whole reason Ozuna is in the lineup is because Bill has been an automatic out against righties unless he gets lucky enough to run into a fastball.

It's not that complicated.
