Gaudin is a solid choice.

Brandon Gaudin, former Georgia Tech play by play man and currently the voice of Madden football amongst other things has been hired as the new Braves tv play by play man.
Good hire.
He's really good.

Mike Soroka is dealing with hamstring tightness, manager Brian Snitker said. He reported it when he arrived to camp. The Braves are holding him out as a precaution.

I am preparing myself for the eventual announcement that his career is over

I have zero hope he will ever play again.

Grant McAuley @grantmcauley
now
Michael Soroka played catch today, so he is getting some work in. Brian Snitker reiterated there's just no reason to push him through a minor issue like the hamstring with 6 weeks to go in camp, but they hope to get him going with the other pitchers as soon as they can. #Braves

This is way too dramatic for mid-February.

Just based on his history since he’s been injured. I hope he comes back obviously but I’ve read many places they think he’ll never come back.

To be fair, this injury has nothing to do with his achilles.

Where? And are they coming to that thought by going off of just his injury history like some in the thread are, or do they actually have sourced info from Braves/Soroka camps?

He said he's "working on a little slider," but is still primarily fastball/change-up
DOB regarding Anderson... that's not reassuring.

Bruce elder it is for the 5th spot
Maybe ian focused on his control over the off season. That is more important than a third pitch, but he still needs a third pitch.

It's a chicken/egg argument because I think one of the reasons for his control issues is because he doesn't have a third pitch.
His changeup is never meant to always be in the zone. But when he only has one other pitch (fastball), it's easier to lay off the changeup, which leads to a lot more walks.
I don't think his sequencing was much different between last year when he got sent down and the year before when he had a perfect game thru 6 in the World Series. The only difference is that opposing teams adapted to him after his first full season and he didn't adapt to that. He just figured the same stuff that worked before would work again, and that's a good way to get your arse out of the league.
