Our no. 6 prospect Tarnok also going to Oakland

Nothing lost here, he's likely to max out as middle relief in MLB.

Is Murphy all we are getting in return? Not complaining because he is really fricking good, but with both Contreras and Pina moving out, that just opened a hole at DH that we expected Contreras to fill.

What are the Brewers contributing to this deal?

We might be hanging on to Grissom and sending Anderson for Adames so Vaughn can DH.

I'd imagine we're getting something from Milwaukee as well. So far, we've given up:

Contreras
Pina
Muller
Tarnok

Woah, Muller to Oakland on that deal too.

That one hurts a bit.

If we’re getting our every day catcher and SS for the future out of it, it was gonna have to hurt a little. But way with it imo. We’re better today and in the future. Assuming we’re getting Adames too, obviously. Good move by AA. How much team control are Murphy and Adames under?

Murph 4 years of Arb and Adames 3 years of Arb, counting 2023

If AA just got Murphy and Adames while only giving up Contreras (this one hurts, no doubt), Pina, Muller, and Tarnok, he is a sorcerer.

Those four are too much for Murphy. There is something else here.

Assuming we end up with Adames as well, I like the move. Shocked AA made a splash move like this.

It has to be Adames or a big bat for DH/OF.

I’m so glad we unloaded Conteras while he still has some value. He was pretty bad at the plate the second half of the year.

Murphy is a gold glove catcher. Caught over 118 games last year and DHed 30. About the same as TDA. They’ll handle DH when they’re not catching. I think Grissom starts in Gwinnett and works in LF. But he needs to be in the lineup every day, and I don’t think he can in Atlanta yet. Not enough room yet for ABs as long as we still have Ozuna on the books. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s in LF every day in Atalanta after the deadline. Or at least platooning with Rosario.

I don't think so. At least I hope not.

Not 100% but a guy I know is affiliated and has not heard a thing about Adames.

Murphy is really good, but that's still a whole lot to give up for one player and we still have the same holes on the team that we had before.

Something else must be coming in terms of a signing, because we gave up a shite ton of trade capital.
