Nice. We get to hear Dimino talk down to an interview subject while asking questions that take 3 minutes for him to get out.

Never understood your hate for Dimino. He's a good guy.

You don't apologize for talking down to people and then you get mad when other people do it to you.

I think a lot of people are making way too much of who is on the OD roster. But this is social media and the world of today and we all have to be angry over something or make a mountain out of a molehill. In the grand scheme of things, it's not that big of a deal.

If this were the PS roster, then that is entirely different.

ETA: If AA hasn't anyone's trust by now, than that's on them. Even if we can all agree that this move is curious.

It's unfortunate because he has done long interviews over the years with really interesting contacts and hall of fame caliber players, but trying to listen to him get to the point with his questions is a painful experience.

First AB, hard grounder that Adrianza misplayed. Next AB, 2 wild pitches moved the runner to third, followed by a sharp RBI single to left.

Fastball is touching 95mph. Slider is sitting 84-85, but he doesn't have much command of it in the early going.

Third AB against Baez, fastball up to 96, got weak contact for a slow dribbler that was not unlike the play where he originally tore his achilles. Thankfully, he was able to field it and get the out at first.

ETA: 4th AB, sworded Torkelson on a nasty 3-2 slider.

ETA2: 5th AB, got Cabrera to fly out to right. Fastball is pretty much staying 94-95, with a couple 96's in there. Very promising first inning for his first game AB's against MLB hitters in 2(?) years. I remember he pitched that one spring training game in 2021.

Soroka back out for the 2nd, and likely final, inning.

6th AB, got ahead 0-2 but ended up issuing a walk. Slider command just isn't there yet, which is to be expected.

ETA: 7th AB, forced a ground ball that would've been a double play if the hit and run wasn't on. The Braves minor leaguers then go full bad news bears with a throwing error, allowing a run to score.

8th AB, first pitch tapped in front of the plate for an easy 2-3 putout.

I care way more about this than his lack of command at this point. He’s missed 2 full seasons—it’s gonna take a while. Anybody expecting anything from him on the big club before the break is setting themselves up for disappointment. But if he’s sitting 94/95 already, that’s a great sign. The command will eventually come as long as he stays healthy. Knock on wood.

Of course, I am curious though what his avg fastball velo will be when he's in a real start and may have to pace himself to last 5-6-7 innings. Since his comeback, he has been on very strict pitchcounts, so it more like an opener role where he could just unleash everything for 40 pitches.

His avg FB velo in 2020 was 92mph, but I'm sure that may get up to 93 or 94 since he did a lot of upper body and arm strength training while rehabbing the lower body.

Anyway, Soroka was just pulled after giving up another single. Not a lot of hard contact, but a lot of contact.
