Yeah, I don't understand the point of adding "Sr." to a last name when your son isn't even close to reaching the pros. The only times it's been appropriate to use Sr. was when the Griffeys and Raines' played with each other.
Because you are proud of your newborn son.

JR and SR should NOT be added to the nameplates of NFL jerseys. It's stupid, useless, and ridiculous.
Steve Smith's last name is Smith, not Smith Sr.
If someone else has the same last name on the team, put the first initial in front.

You do realize that most non-football players do this after having a son of the same name?
TD is so triggered. :

They wear their name on the back of their jersey???
What non-sports jobs do people wear their name on the back of their uniform???

NFL purest are getting on MLB levels of stupidity.
Last week we had the guy bitching about Antonio Brown honoring Arnold Palmer with cleats. Now people are upset about players wanting their correct title to be on their jersey.

Jr Griffey actually started this 25 yrs ago because... Ya know... There was another Ken Griffey on the team!... And Dad didn't put stupid "SR" on his jersey.
Griffey only played with his father a couple years but he kept it on his jersey, just became a thing... It was cool when he did it because 1. It was legitimate and 2 it was unique.
Putting Jr or Sr on your jersey when your son or father isn't in the league or on the team is just ignorant.
Tom Brady is actually Thomas Brady JR but amazingly he doesn't have it on his jersey.

If it is your official name you can put it if you want. What on earth is the problem?

Black families, especially in the South have been doing this for generations now. I know entire families where every first male descendant is a junior or third.

Did George Bush know his son would be a fricking president? No, but guess what, good fricking thing he added Jr to his name otherwise we'd be confused as shite. Mofos will find anything to complain about.
Is this a line from a movie?

I find it very ducking annoying. Especially Sr.

Jr or Sr isn't part of your last name and shouldn't go on the back of your jersey.
If your name is John Smith Jr, you are John Jr, not Smith Jr.

All of this shite started with Robert Griffin III. In fact that is stupid too, because he's Robert III, not Griffin III. You're not a junior or third or fourth or your last name. It's your first name that you are the repeat. Stupid athletes.

The Rooneys have been doing it since they stepped off the boat. Arthur Rooney came here with his son Daniel. Daniel grew up to be a pub owner and had several sons. The oldest, Arthur, founded the Steelers. The second oldest, Dan, became a Franciscan priest.
Art named his oldest son Dan (current Steelers owner) and his second son Art Jr. Dan's oldest son, Art II, is running the team now.

Either "rondo" or "therick711" are WRONG. They both replied to you with contradicting answers & neither provided a link to back up their claims. I don't know but yeah I have noticed this too.
