Not only has his swing and game gone south

His swing is better than it has been since 2005. He's mentally not there. I've never seen him check out of a tournament on the 13th hole of the final round until today.

I'm not sold on the new swing. He has moments, but he can't put 4 rounds together. He only hit 9 of 18 greens today. And yes, a lot of it is mental.

that was pure pwnage today by Mickelson. If Tiger would have done what Phil did today you have non stop around the clock worship on the golf channel and ESPN for the next three weeks. Romo out shot Tiger today. think about that!

As I said before, you don't know that Romo "outshot" Tiger today.

#1 Romo was playing from the forward tees that made a hell of a lot of difference on yards to the green.

#2 Tiger had to putt everything out. If Romo couldn't better Tiger's score, he put it in his pocket.

Apples & oranges comparison.

You are spot on with this. Its good for the game to have Tiger playing good, but I hate it when the media goes on and on about him. They'll talk more about how Tiger played bad instead of how Phil played lights out today.

That is how sports are bro. It's not just golf and Tiger. Every sport the media covers is like that. The stars will get every second of tv time, good or bad.

Not saying Phil is not a star or a great player (he is elite). However, his career was over shadowed by Woods. Phil could of made a huge name for himself (even bigger than it already is) had he came on in 2010 and dominated when Tiger fell off.

Tiger is still the number one golfer and he is the golfer most fans want to hear about.

I'm not sure that is the case today. His last offical W was what, 2009? Will be interesting to see what CBS's ratings are for the AT&T? If they're up, how much is attributable to Phil being in the hunt in addition to Tiger?

While Tiger is still no. one, at least ratings wise, I wonder about his game. This fourth day choke has got to give him more mental problems, and I think his weak play is 80% mental.

Phil gets a little credit for the ratings, not much.

The majority of people watched because it was Tiger, than a number of people watched because it was Tiger and Phil. Phil, alone, the ratings drop off drastically...and I mean drastically.

I remember when Phil slammed the field at the Shell Houston open last spring. I was watching, but I watch golf almost every weekend, regardless if Tiger is playing. I doubt most people watched that shell tournament.

Tiger's swing is money and I don't think he is some head case like everyone speculates. He just hasn't been able to get his putter working for him consistently yet this season.

Well when everyone who knocks on him uses the "old tiger" references. Old tiger hit errant shots. He just made every putt inside 10 ft. Not the case right now. I'm not just talking about the 4 footers

Tiger has a HUGE impact on TV ratings. Half of the 'I'll only watch if Tiger is playing' crowd tunes in to watch him win. The other half tunes in to watch him lose. I'm in the latter half and Sunday was the most fun I've had in weeks.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are the only golfers who can consistently move the TV ratings needle for golf. And they did that when they were paired together Sunday: CBS drew its highest final-round Pebble Beach rating in 15 years. CBS' AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am drew a 5.1 overnight rating, which translates to 5.1% of households in the 56 urban markets measured for overnights, for a tournament that Mickelson won. That 5.1% is up 96% from last year's coverage, and the highest rating since 1997.

I have said this all along and his swoon will continue until he gets this back. If he can. The TIGER FACTOR is long gone and will never come back IMO. Phil OWNED his arse yesterday. And YES I will say this. I think Tiger was intimidated By him.

Somedays players will feed off of each other, good or bad. Not yesterday. Phil was hot, Tiger, not so hot. Tiger couldn't get it going. That's golf. He'll have his day again. I believe he is to mechanical sometimes.

I hope Tiger appreciates the money that Nike gives him to use their putter. Cause he doesn't make near the putts that he used to, and according to some on here, that all started when he switched away from his Scotty Cameron putter to the Nike putter.

As stated before, Tiger has always had a few bad shots in each round. It's just that he used to be able to get up and down from tough spots, but he can't make the putts to save par anymore. Take it from a guy who has missed his fair share of short putts, the pressure is extremely high when chipping (or playing from the fairway to the green) when you feel like you have to knock it stiff because you can't make any putts.
