Yes after 3 years at Stanford. signed right away and played well in the minors last year. They'll probably try to pump him through pretty quickly.

Humberto Quintero was slated as the starting catcher this year with JR as his back up. Humberto isn't a prospect anymore and has had his chances. Pudge is >>>>>>> Humberto.

He will have completed 2 years in the minors after 3 at Stanford. A little quick but not unheard of.
BTW I know you like to rip on the astros but i'll be willing to bet we finish above your Reds this year in the NLC if you want to come up with something.

And signing Pudge pretty much is the management telling Towles and Quintero that they are not the future... a way to get to Castro, hopefully.
