Those fricksticks have the tiebreaker thanks to that 4-game sweep a few weeks ago.

I remember when I predicted a .500 season, with best case being 32 wins. That prediction was not viewed in a positive light around here.

Now, I think we should be extremely happy with 30 wins and a quick blow out in the first series. Personally, I’d be ok if they didn’t make the playoffs, but I want to see Springer have a few more games in an Astros uniform.

I know there is no way in hell it could happen, but if they hoisted the WS trophy in Arlington’s new stadium, I could endure another 5 years of 100 loss seasons with a perpetual smile on my face.

Imagine if before the season you would have known we would have no Osuna, Verlander, Alverez, and would have had 9-10 rookies in the bullpen. Plus Bregman, Altuve, Brantley, etc all miss time.

Prob would have predicted 21-39.

No. My prediction would've been the same.

Dusty fricking Baker + constant negative press in the off season + predicted down years for Altuve, Bregman, and Alvarez + No G. Cole + only 60 games = .500 ball.

You'd have to be willfully blind to think the off season drama wasn't going to have negative implication on Altuve, Bregman, Correa, et. al.

As for injuries -- Bregman, Altuve, Brantley, Springer all missing time is really nothing new. But it is absolutely amplified in a 60 games season.

Does anyone really think the Marlins are an 82-85 win season in a true season?

Are the Nats really a 68 win team?

Are the White Sox a 100+ win team?

No, of course not (at least not yet). But a 60 game season means streaks are amplified, and normal baseball expectations can not be counted on.

This whole exercise was a fricking joke.

Still happy to be watching baseball. No matter how un-baseball it really is.

I'd like our chances MUCH better against Randy Johnson than the actual starting pitcher. The Astros notoriously suck against shitty starters.
