I’m the breed of guy that would have been affected if I thought what they did was what made the difference b/w winning and losing a championship.
I immediately looked into the numbers, team wise and personnel wise. Having been at all of the Astros home WS games, I already knew it was impossible for them to hear anything at the plate.
The fact that the Astros still hold the best road record in back to back seasons (‘17-‘18) on the road in the history of the game, along with the fact that they lost EVERY HOME game in ‘19 WS, makes it obvious that championships were not decided as a result of any unfair advantage.
And now at this point, after the ‘20-‘22 seasons have played out, it’s apparent to even the most cynical that 6 straight LCS’s and another championship can’t deny this franchises abilities and accomplishments.
I think Evan Gattis and Marwin Gonzalez deserve a cloud over their home game regular season in ‘17. Pretty clear benefactors there. But Marwin’s contribution to the championship was Game 2 on the road in LA

You’re username says it all, so I can better understand you
But anyway, no man alive could have heard trashcan banging during those games. Constant noise, everyone standing, even in the upper decks
Why do you think the Yankees needed Altuve to have a buzzer in ‘19?

Some people support their points of view with facts.
Other’s support their points of view with uncomfortable laughter.
This thread has exhibited both.

The mental image of you doing your own independent research while you dig through the data, do your own experimentation, and coming to a conclusion is just a terrific one

I am infinitely more comfortable in my skin than you will ever be
And I’m adopted. Laugh all you want.
You’re the one drowning and on fire

Same. Made no difference whatsoever.

I didn't say recently. After 3 years of nonsense, we're all pretty tired of it.
ETA: and yes, most of us also add that we believe the Astros were not the only team cheating.
And a really lot of mlb players have commented that they are tired of it. They've commented that they knew the Astros were doing it and the knew that many others were as well. It seems it was fairly common knowledge in the mlb that many teams were sign stealing in innovative ways, taking it to another level.
Also, there were other mlb players that have loudly protested against what the Astros were doing. I think it's a combination of hate the winner syndrome, I used to be an Astros and need to distance myself from them for my new teams fans, I want to tell my fans (Dodger players in particular) what they want to hear...etc.
It also is widely accepted by the players that Altuve and Reddick really did not participate, yet some continue to act like Altuve is the devil himself.
The real fact is that there would not have been a scandal and MLB would have swept it all under the rug without Mike Fiers. I'm sure MLB was thrilled to get him, since he made it easy for the Astros to be scapegoats, thereby giving coverage to the Red Sox, Yankees, and Dodgers.

All I know is I watched that cuckold Jomboy look like he was going to break down and cry as the Yankees got swept this year and rivaled winning the actual championship
