if I want to go to a game on some Saturdays, how do I go about getting tickets?

Wasn't a problem when I was in school. We were able to heckle the opposing team loud and clear since no one was in the Dome.

Trent Mackey

Hopefully that will not happen this year - again, this pertains to a certain type of player (2/3-star), not offers to SEC bound players.

I agree - tickets are never a problem, especially at the Dome.

If you know a typically apathetic Tulane student, I'm sure he/she would hand over their season tickets for almost nothing. Of course, I hope that's impossible a few years for now.

I am happy for Tulane...they are zero threat to LSU...

just please refrain form being a typical Green Wave fan and bring up records prior to 1955 against Auburn...the routine is old and played out..

Be happy for even having a football team and look forward to the future...dont bring up some stuff from when we werent even alive.

Agreed.

Unfortunately, diplomacy rarely works w/ fans from the land of Alabama.

That said, point taken. Post-Katrina, even having a football team is a blessing.

It is beyond me why they dont play all their games in Tad Gormley...it just seems like sucha better fit.

They could throw in some money and spruce it up a bit....

given the obvious restrictions: Top 50 academics

Top 50 academics doesn't stop Tulane from doing anything. In fact, Tulane isn't even a top 50 university. Anyway, Notre Dame, Virginia, UCLA, Michigan, USC, UNC, GA Tech, Illinois, Washington, Texas, Penn State, Florida...all ranked higher than Tulane and don't have near the problems athletically.

40k a year tuition doesn't make you a great school (same goes for SMU, Miami, Baylor). Tulane's problem is disloyal alumni forgetting about the school upon graduation and never giving a dime back to the university.

i don't know where you got that from, but it's complete and total bullshite. even after the hurricane and the school's fall in ranking they're still in the top 50. expect to see the school begin to climb up the rankings a little now that it has resurged so well (admissions were insane this year)

go look at selectivity stats. tulane is quite a bit more selective than half of the schools you posted, which makes a huge difference. the only ones really comparable for this discussion are the private universities and they both have way more football tradition

and FWIW, texas, penn state, and florida being ranked above TU is a fricking travesty and only because of the hurricane.

He was very excited,'' Banks said of Toledo. "(Tulane's coaches) told me I could choose either side of the ball to play on.
What if wants to punt too?
Didnt a Bama fan say he was a Bama lock?

i think it would be nice for tulane to get bigger on the o-line and d-line.they shouldve snagged the guy from esj that tex.a&m scooped up.he was just a little short but a good lineman.

I would like nothing better then to see TULANE do well. If they could only get the 2nd and 3rd tier players in Louisiana, the could crack the top 25 every now and again......

?

Check out the US NEWS National University rankings - Tulane is ranked #50 in 2008.

It's certainly considered a perennial Top 50 school, with or without its Law, Medical, Public Health or Business schools.

That said, academics was listed as ONE factor.

Rivals.com - West Monroe star (D.J. Banks) commits to Wave

"Banks, a 5-foot-9, 177-pound burner who recorded 4.45 in the 40-yard dash, became the team's fifth commitment for the 2009 class when the three-star prospect informed the coaches following an unofficial visit earlier in the day."

"Banks boasts a 3.9 grade point average and was named the 35th-best prospect in the state of Louisiana by Rivals.com earlier this month."

That's always been the worst aspect of the roster - the O and D lines. You see these guys on campus and it's hard to believe their "D-IA" linemen.

An example of the change in attitude Toldeo and his staff have implemented at Tulane:

Now, Ledford, Van Hooser and Jason know they must get more people on board to make their recruiting class winners in addition to friends.

"Yeah, we are all going to hit the phones and really try and get a great class together at Tulane," Ledford said. "I mean, I really want to win, and no one wants to be surrounded by a bunch of bums. The coaches are already doing their jobs, so we will definitely be doing what we can to help them."
