Your memory of the Malace at the Palace is foggy.
Ron Artest went into the stands and repeatedly swung at a young adult who was not the guy that threw the cup. That guy was a few feet away.
The idiot that ran on the court and got jacked by Jermaine O'Neal deserved it. I agree.

You may want to watch the video of the Malice in the Palace, because you clearly are misremembering the event. Artest went into the stands and attacked a fan for getting a drink thrown at him. Artest happened to go after the wrong fan.

he went after a guy near the one who threw the cup, NOT the guy who threw the cup
the guy who threw the cup did a great "who me?" act as well... played innocent, watched Artest come after the wrong guy, and the even got in a cheap shot
