Are there any actual baseball fans that care about the steroid use?

I don’t personally know any. It seems to be the grandstanding writers with their scarfs and chai lattes that snub their noses at the steroid era players that saved the game.

The hall has become the ultimate in virtue signaling from writers that likely never picked up a bat beyond little league. They made it about themselves and not the players.

I do but I generally hate cheating in any aspect.

With that said, Bonds was a hall of famer before the roids and baseball writers are pussies

I wish they would stop testing for it in baseball and football.

I’m for the roids. Humans have peaked, lets crank up the competition. It’s not my liver taking the damage.

I don't like it when people say "everyone was on something" so I guess so.

On the other hand, that summer of 98 sure was entertaining.

I could get behind this. 600 foot bombs nightly sounds pretty good to me.

There’s no question they did. Baseball was all but dead until the home run chase between McGwire and Sosa.

I don’t care, the supplement regime that these guys are taking is beyond what the normal gym rat is taking.

I do but it was so prevalent during that time that it's basically the equivalent of "he without sin throw the first stone" and I guarantee all the sportswriters who voted for MVP and all that shite then knew about it too, it's all bullshite LET BARRY IN

Yep. It was the writers that noticed their waning influence that created the outrage over steroid use decades later.

As a long time cycling fan I think baseball's steroid issues are quaint but the year Bonds went for the all time HR record was a joke. Outside of SF, the entire sports world was making fun of him and it was pretty embarrassing.

Edit: and I think he should absolutely be in the HOF.

This.

He was already a 3X MVP and had 445 HR's before he started using. That is 1st ballot HoF(in a normal world) material.

And no. I don't care, especially when the commissioner condoned it.

If you dominated the era in which you played you should be in. All the guys were juicing then, and some guys were able to stand out even from that. Those guys should be in the Hall.

Most baseball fans don't give a shite. Self-righteous journalists are the ones that care because they think it makes them relevant, like they're protecting the integrity of the game or some such nonsense.

This is the part that really pisses me off. They’ve appointed themselves gatekeepers of the hall and only they have the power to grant you access.

The system is beyond broken.

1998 was one of the most fun seasons ever IDGAFF if they were juicing.

Do y’all think any Astro, like Altuve has a chance of getting into the HOF one day? Or is the cheating scandal going to ruin that chance for him, just how steroids ruined those chances for Bonds, Clemens, and others?
