Lifelong Louisiana resident here who was a Saints fan for over 40 years and have weeded them out steadily over the last few years to the point where I almost root against them. It honestly hasn't been difficult. It probably started when a lot of his teammates sold Drew Brees down the river over that innocuous comment he made when the whole world was trying to go woke. There are just a lot of unlikable assholes on the team that I just can't bring myself to root for just because they wear black and gold.

Try to justify it all you want, but the next time they go on a serious run, you’ll be right back on the bandwagon

It’s sad to me to see how many people are front runners. And to make it even worse, society has made this type of action/behavior acceptable. If they were on pace to finish 14-3 or something like that you’d still be there eating all that shite up.

No, I won't. I have had 2 teams that I was loyal to in my years of sports watching: Astros and Saints. I haven't added any along the way and at this point in my life, I won't. I honestly see the NFL more as something I can study and bet on rather than have a rooting interest. The only team that I mildly root for is Cincinnati because I like Burrow and Chase...but I don't get upset if they lose.

I feel like the organization owes its fans to be competitive or at least make an effort. 90s Bengals were prime examples of justifiable abandonment

Do whatever you want, but I would never abandon my teams unless they lie and backstab their way to another market thousands of miles away. I just can't flip flop like that at the drop of a hat.

I am trying like hell to find a new team.

The Saints are just bad

My baseball team is the Pirates, my son is a Rangers fan so I started watching them with him a couple years ago. Damn it was fun to pull fir a winner

I was a massive Raiders fan from the early 80s until Al Davis let Jon Gruden go to Tampa. When Chucky and the Bucs trounced the Raiders in the Super Bowl, I finally let go. It was a fitting end to my fandom, I felt.

I’ve followed the Saints less and less each year since their Super Bowl win. The sad fact is, every season from here on will be anticlimactic, as they’ll never top that post-Katrina run with Breesus.

Brian Ferentz is your offensive coordinator.

Not abandoned, but it sucks the soul out of you and makes games not fun to watch.
