people thought lue sucked bc there was a meme of him looking confused on the sideline. And because since he coached lebron he couldnt possibly know what he was doing. It was all lebron. Same treatment Spo and brown got.

Kidd had coached over 5 season before this one. the knock on him Had nothing to do with experience.

FYI brown with the lakers has a better record than Spo sans lebron. Here is where you bring up the Cleveland team with the garbage roster as “proof” that he is not a good coach.

Vegas doesn't think so. Let's not take 1 game anomaly and conclude that it's a trend.
Just for context, the Grizzlies were better factually/statistically this entire season when Ja was off the court.

I do think they're better with him obviously but his defensive limitations are really not discussed much and a pretty big issue holding the team back.

ell me about the rosters those other coaches had.

So he sucked as a coach because he had stars, and he sucked as a coach because he didn’t have stars…

So now you think he will do well as a coach without any stars? Am I following the logic

Mike brown has a better win % coaching lebron than lue or spo and his rosters had a lot less Help around lebron than either of those guys.

One of the best defensive coaches in the league going to a sqaud who has been at the bottom of the league on defense for a while. I can see it working out.

And I am not guaranteeing he is going to have success, I have just always taken a wait and see approach with coaches Instead of shitting all over them. as we have seen countless times it is all about fit and every situation a coach steps into is different.

So do you think the kings have a better roster than the lakers had, or his second Cleveland stint?

Better than the Cavs for sure. Re Lakers, brown had success there. 50+ win pace. Which fyi is better than spoelstra in Miami without lebron, and better than Lue in LAC. And I think at this point both of those guys are consensus top 5 coaches based on what they have done without lebron.

Who from SAC is starting on that Cleveland team? I don’t see anyone, except maybe Harrison Barnes. Fox is their best player, but he isn’t better than Kyrie. And CLEs bench wasn’t half bad that year bubba

Hot take!!!

So after Pop, Doc, and Kerr, you think those are the consensus next two best coaches in the league based on a few mediocre to above average years without lebron?

Did you see who the top 5 guys were on that cavs team?

SAC has 3 of the best 4 players with

Fox
Barnes
Sabonis

Keep in mind Kyrie was 21 at the time.

Doc has more championships and overall success without lebron than those other two bums you out as “consensus” top 5. And since the bar for those two is mediocre to above average, DOc has to be above them

21 year old kyrie is still a better overall player than Fox. Fox is a classic hood stats on a bad team guy.

And the cavs had Deng who was not only a competent scorer but also a great defender, and waters was a solid player.

Again, Barnes is the only one with a chance to start for that CLE team

Doc Won a title with 4 hall of famers + some pretty good role players.

And has been knocked out of the playoffs by teams he should have beaten more than a few times.

I don’t see too many people putting doc over either one of those guys the last couple years.

Go ahead bro sabonis is a multiple all star and you completely ignored him as if Tristan Thompson would start over him.

Also richaun Holmes > spencer hawes and varejao

Why all these lies to push the agenda that brown is a bad coach? What do you have against him?

You said Lue and Spo were “consensus” Top 5 coaches. If Doc isn’t above them, why don’t you go ahead and give us your Top 5 so I can have a good chuckle…

And Sebonis may start for that CLE team, but I think your forgetting how important TT was to those CLE teams. He had intangibles bubba.

His coaching record without Lebron, and the number of times he has been fired aren’t lies bubba.

Comparing a role player v an al star my word

if you were to ask around the league the top coaches you would get

Pop (out of respect)
Nurse
Spo
Lue

And then you would get a good mix of other guys rounding out the top 5. But those would be the top 4 more times than not.

Monty would make a lot of lists. Which is quite funny and fitting for a discussion like this since so many were convinced he sucked as a coach when he was with the New Orleans franchise.

How about a ban bet, I guarantee SAC finishes with a worse record than that CLE team.

With such a stacked roster, and one of the great defensive minds coming in to coach, should be an easy bet for you to take
