I knew coming into this thread the NBA hate would be strong as the posters defend baseball.
There is no objective arguement that can be made for baseball being more exciting than basketball. I don't have a problem with people watching baseball, it has it's appeal, but excitement is not one of them.

you obviously don't appreciate either or they would not bore you. i have to say BY FAR soccer is the most boring sport ever invented whether on tv or in person. ice hockey is close, esp on tv where you can't see the damn puck. rowing is infinitly more exciting than soccer.

Soccer is most boring, followed by the first 47 minutes and the 12 time-outs in the last minute of any NBA game.

I don't know how you can objectively measure a subjective feeling. By definition, someone's excitement over watching a sporting event is subjective. Having said that, I don't find the monotonous activity of running up and down a court throwing a ball through a hoop very exciting, especially early in the game. In the last few minutes of a close game, sure basketball is exciting to me.

Baseball is like a good suspense thriller. Slow for a bit building suspense and a flurry of activity. Basketball is like a bad action B-movie. Action throughout but nothing to write home about.

I like watching baseball, golf, and soccer. I don't find men's sports boring.
