I came to post that airplane scene and you beat me to it. Everyone knows that Airplane scene was funny. Now people would rather be outraged and ruin people's lives than laugh (or not) and move on.

Can you possibly fathom the very milquetoast statement that he probably just shouldn't have said that?
Our society was much better when people didn’t have to tip toe around the feelings of others who are perpetually looking to be offended. ALWAYS LOOKING TO BE OFFENDED.

Man you are having some culture war argument meltdown. Everyone on here except for what probably agrees to one level or another
We are also talking about it is unwise in any era for the starting QB for the #1 team in the nation to just bring up unprompted a female side line reporter getting slapped by his head coach. That's a pretty non-controversial take

What middle ground are you looking for?

I want to see the actual question. I feel like Arch got baited. Who asks about what AI edits you have seen? Was it in reference to the game in general or specifically the Sark/Holly incident?

No, he was asked

Manning, 22, was riffing with reporters during an availability on Monday and was asked about seeing clips of the mayhem following Texas's historic win over No. 1 Ohio State on Saturday. One reporter asked about whether he saw any of the AI edits going around social media.
So a reporter asks the question, but Arch is supposed to run away and hide.
Once again, this is only a story because in 2026 people can't wait to find something to be offended about.

He could say simply "yes"
or lie and say "no"
Or ask "have you? What do they show?"
Or many other answers

The women with a pfp that uses no less than a dozen filters are the only ones that are complaining.

Or he could say he saw one he thought was funny and 90% of society would laugh along with him.

Maybe today some Dan Wolken type can ask Arch his thoughts on the University of Texas' admission policies and why there are so many students from India?

And then he has to deal with the fallout online, from his handlers, from his university, from his agents, from the press that will start to pressure him about it
Its why athletes and coaches give extremely mild answers and evasive ones to the press
The press cums their pants over answers like this

Just watched it. Not offensive to me but definitely not funny.

And there is nothing wrong with your opinion.
It’s when we act like “how dare someone else find it funny” that we go sideways.

I really am not sure you are even understanding the argument
Most people aren't even really arguing about that

When we learn to ignore the chirping crybabies whose only satisfaction in life is dragging down others, we will be better off.

That is very easy for you to say, sitting anonymously
Meanwhile he has millions in endorsements coming his way and a possible NFL career to think about
He has agents, he has family, he has lawyers, he has university administrators and coaches, he has SPONSORS that probably don't love him saying this

What are you arguing, that violence against women is wrong? We all agree
It seems to me the argument is that some can laugh at a comedic situation which simulates a slap to a woman, while others think anyone who laughs at such a thing is a dreg of society.

Because they are all scared of their own shadow.
When we go back to ignoring the people that act like this, our society will be better off

Apparently it’s masculine to joke about slapping a woman /s
Like I said, Incel Brigade. I guarantee the women you’ve come in contact with were repulsed of you.
