I know WKU is going to be in CUSA any day now, not sure how far they want to expand though, could be more.

No idea why they'd want New Mexico State or Idaho for football only. I think they would have been better off getting two more FCS schools to move up. James Madison and...? Liberty? Missouri State? Florida A&M? SC State?

These schools will not be able to withstand the athletic department scrutiny that would come with the process of moving up to FBS.

The WAC is being dismantled and these schools suck so bad at football no one else has added them

Yeah, I was talking school population not recruiting. I doubt recruiting will take a huge impact at southern but I definitely don't think KSU/State moving to D1 HELPS Southerns recruiting.
Southern/State/KSU are all fighting for those metro atlanta kids when it comes to enrollment.

was just spitballing. sure there are two more FCS teams that make more sense than friggin Idaho and New Mexico State.
Perhaps Sam Houston State or another Southland team?
there must have been internal things between schools to end up with those two b/c they are a bad fit all the way around.
the only positive is the Sun Belt should be able to host a title game.
but then again, how would you like to tell a Southern based bowl committee that they have a chance of ending up with one of two teams from way the hell out West?
