BTW: Goodell was at the Masters's the day the tape was delivered to the NFL.
I don't see how that is relevant.

The silence from Rice makes me think there was some deal for 2 games:
"Look, we'll give you 2 games and play along, but if this tape comes out, we're increasing it to a year. Do you understand?"

and? there is no reason that wouldn't go up the chain to him
they're going to identify which executive, they're going to identify where she is in the chain...this defense of the league is plausible deniability which is good if you have any goodwill and credibility to bank on, which goodell and the league office have none. A negative balance if anything

They're going to make the person who received the video into a scapegoat. That's what it looks like to me.
They're going to have to prove that he received notice of the video and lied about it. If he did that the evidence is out there. We haven't seen that evidence yet though. Inference based on what we know right now isn't going to be enough to get him out.

no, he has seen what happens to those that oppose the league office. Surely he knows if Goodell saw the tape, but why say something when you have a wink nod agreement your suspension is 16 games and not a lifetime ban

I bet Goodell wants to take a ride in the elevator with her at the NFL building right about now.

this
if they want the public to believe a woman saw that shite and failed to send to Goodell when it was something he was specifically waiting for they are in for a rude awakening.

Playing Devil's advocate here...
What's to stop the league offices from offering her a lump sum of money in exchange for her willingness to take the fall, along with signing a non-disclosure agreement to keep her quiet?

It's not about her silence, it's about how that looks to a public that has no faith in them

So you think there's enough here right now to nail Goodell?

Yes
And BTW, it doesn't play well that he was at the masters. Augusta has such a good image with women

They can always play that she forwarded it up and someone else stopped it but how far do you think this woman, an executive, is removed from Goodell
If she is a direct subordinate he is 100% cooked

Don't know. That's why I don't think the information that we have today is enough to indict him.

The fact it was ever touched by the NFL is proof he's a liar
There is no way he didn't see it. What purpose or motive would someone have for not giving it to him. If it was to protect him, that's worse. A policy of deniability is sleazy as frick

I thought there was enough the moment the video came out TBH.
At least before it came out people could try and rationalize the event by blaming Rice's wife for attacking him. When you see the tape the self defense gone wrong argument becomes pathetically bad.

I didn't, it is the lying that does him in...I actually would've gained some respect for him if he faced the music and said, "yeah I was wrong"
he invited this PC bullshite into the league, and he just didn't have the guts to admit it that he saw that video (but he already did, now he denies it) and came to a different conclusion than everyone else...frick him
I just knew it the second I saw it, that they'd deny it despite putting it out through unofficial channels that they've seen it...the moment they denied it, I became sucked in...there's just no way to cover your tracks on that
too many people involved, he doesn't have the credibility to make everyone a sucker, and he burned a shitload of reporters...
they'll be out for blood. And the AP report will be just the beginning, there are so many loose ends out there...I just hope to god a journalist does a kamikaze and reveals his source for that...someone who doesn't rely on good standing with the league for information...or someone just not thinking clearly
People went along with Stalin, but when they got the chance, they took it. Same here, some are playing the fence to see how it pans out, but there are enough people out there looking for blood. They can get the big story and attention and not worry about being denied access by goodell.

It's the very definition of circumstantial evidence.
All I'm saying is that they need more than this. If they can find phone conversations, emails by Goodell that implicate him, that's what's going to do the trick. Good luck if you think their own handpicked investigator is going to come forward with that information.
Maybe this executive will be the whistleblower, or the sacrificial lamb, we'll see.
