That is a great point; yeah, they can dig in and hire him and say FU to all the fans , but week after week hewill face Kimmel, Stewart, Sat Nite Live, etc and it will be relentless. He will be a punchline and a joke.

look at the reddits. Goodell seems to be hated by every fan base. I think the neutrals on here just like him because he shafted the majority fans.

Actually, that's one of the better points I've heard. I'm convinced the reporting media will, eventually, let it die. But these guys...you're right. They will hammer him on a consistent basis, if only to fill out their monologues. And IMO, that resonates more with the football watching public than Lora O'Donnel questioning RG one-on-one.

or weakness from the owner's POV. The owners could put anyone but Goodell, Ray Rice, or Donald Sterling as Commish and this would end almost immediately.

No one outside the owners like him. He's hated by the fans and the vast majority of the players. I'm not even the biggest NFL fan and I hate his guts.

Yep, easy job. No skills required but to sit behind a desk and watch the revenue pour in.
Same for any F500 company really. The infrastructure is already in please, so any incoming CEO can be a fricking moron and still be successfull. Experience, degrees, intelligence? All way overrated when you're running a "self-sustaining monster". You just need to know the right people.
