If so, how? I want to see if I can get into it but don't want to buy a subscription to start

I get to see a handful of teams in person (Hockey East, ECAC).

Those two conferences also feature on ESPN+, or ESPN Select I think is what they call it now.

Flo Hockey gets you a shitload of weird stuff plus AHL and ECHL, and lower-tier D1 hockey conference teams (Atlantic is the conference). Flo Hockey has also been known for shoddy, unreliable service, games without audio commentary. I would never pay for that.

NCHC (Denver, North Dakota, Duluth, etc.) have their own service separate of everyone.

Big 10 has been on anywhere between their own cable network, CBS Sports (not local CBS), and sometimes ESPN. But ESPN is where the NCAA tournament games are all on - whether cable or +, you can watch them all on +/Select. Select is PROBABLY your best bet I think it's $14 for a month.

FYI Select is NOT the same as ESPN Unlimited, just so you avoid paying more if you don't want all the other stuff they air.

Are there any teams in particular you're looking to watch?

Last, have a look at the D1 schedule which posts where the game will air

NCHC is best conference top to bottom so look into their service and then watch Big Ten Network plus anything on the ESPN App.

Thanks for the link, so those games that say espn are just streamed on the basic cable espn app? I think I'll start there

By the looks of it ESPN+/Select only airs Hockey East (BU, BC, PC, etc.,) and ECAC (Quinnipiac, Brown, Clarkson, etc.). The OOC schedule includes some against Big 10 teams but they have their own network too. Whatever you do, don't waste your money on Flo Hockey.
