Anyone surprised by the Joe Buck audio?

Agreed.
I would have thought Buck wasn't a moron and knew those were considered training missions and got pilots required stick time.

Flying in a straight line is considered training for pilots that have logged 1000's of hours in their career?
I'm on the side of flyovers but that logic seems nonsense.

I understand logging hours is part of training but shouldn’t we just do drone flyovers if we are practicing for the next war?

Why do people expect him to know this? He's never struck me as someone who knows much beyond the talking points he's given before each game.

Exactly. People listen to a guy call a football game and all of a sudden think they know him. Then they get surprised by their politics. The clues have been there all along.

From what I've been told, they almost treat them as simulated bomber runs / flight attachments.
