I bet football for damn near 25 years. I quit during Covid due to just losing a lot of interest in sports throughout that time.
I still watch ball games but not with even 25% of the passion or regularity that I used to and betting without knowledge is just dumb. That said, I think I picked a great time to quit. With the explosion of legal betting, I can only imagine the amount of young men that are wrecking themselves financially right now. A 20 year old that can take out a credit card and put $2000 in a BetOnline account in 5 minutes is a recipe for disaster.
At least I had to have cash to pay the real life bookie when I was 20.
