He was a beast on Special Teams his entire career. That counts.

He'd be the same player drafted at the same position at either school..

My apologies. I took "meh" to be a "not really" response.

Option A: Drafted in the first round.

Option B: Drafted in the first round. Win a national championship. Compete in the playoffs for another national championship.

Good decision.

Alabama is to defensive backs what LSU is to linebackers. For all of their success at the other positions, for some reason, neither school can consistently develop that position. I've got no grudge against Collins, but to think he wouldn't be a top pick out of LSU is an indefensible position. If anything, he'd be a higher pick. Bama's had real issues developing DB's (much like LSU and LB's).

I haven't seen anyone make this argument. You're arguing against a position that no one has taken.

You could easily find 5 dudes on LSU's roster or any other power 5 team that sound just like him.

Guy was a 5 star, 6 foot 200 lb safety coming out of Dutchtown. It shouldn't be too surprising that the speech comm class he took as a freshman might not have been a priority.

He probably could have played at Southern and gotten picked in the first round.

Rashad Johnson was a walkon at Alabama, Saban had him drafted in the 3rd.
Javy's only other offer was to FAU or FIU, Saban got him drafted in the 2nd. Both guys still play in the NFL.

Kareem Jackson
Mark Barron
Dre Kirkpatrick
Dequan Menzie
Dee Milliner
Ha Ha Clinton Dix
Vinnie Sunseri
Robert Lester

Alabama is doing very well at the position. Hell, Cyrus was a WR in 2011. Many of the players I listed have had varying degrees of success. Some are really improving. Some are what they are. Some were overvalued in the draft. I don't think Alabama has a problem developing guys in the secondary.

Saban had a tutor at DTown for his recruits. Word is, Collins and Lacy would have never made it without this person's "help"

Not that I care, in fact, kudos to him for doing so.

I was gonnna say, Bama has a ton of DBs in the NFL

Collins lost 5 games in 3 years. LSU lost 5 alone this year. Im pretty sure he won.

I'm not real sensitive or anything but this is kind of sad. All the guy did was pick which school he wanted to attend when he was 18 yo, it's not even like he misled LSU really bad about his decision either

Nor did he singlehandedly beat LSU in a game or anything like that

So I guess my point is, typical whining LSU fan
