Do any of you have any doubt as to the best defense in the nation? USC is holding a clinic right now.

Even if they do have the best defense in the nation, Notre Dame is not the offense to stake your claim against. They're nothing short of horrible outside of South Bend.

11 games into the season and we have only given up 83 points total.

Doesn't matter. USC still has a very good defense.

And then USC will beat Penn St. 44-14 and everyone will think they are unbelievable. What I would have given for OSU to win and for USC to play either Texas, Alabama, or Florida in a real game for once.

For all the bad things people may say about you, nobody will ever accuse you of being humble, Ruff.

USC has a great D, but I'm not sure anyone knows who has the best D because opponents vary so much.

I was rooting hard for Oregon St. just for that reason. Penn St. is better than Bama and is just as good as FLorida/Texas/OU but they do not get the respect of those teams.

USC would take any team to the woodshed in a bowl game. Any team.

No they aren't, but it's close.

No way dude. Not even close.

Florida would beat USC by two touchdowns right now no matter what your little vegas line says.

I seem to remember Texas and USC playing not too long ago.

Helluva game if I recall.

against the worst defense of the Pete Carroll era. Rey and Cush are not true freshmen anymore.

In fact, in that scenario I'm betting on USC getting in somehow

This would be the perfect year for 4 team playoff. USC, Oklahoma, Texas and Florida/Bama. Hard for me to say who the best team is among those. Right now, I'd say Florida is playing the best, but USC has looked pretty dominant since OSU loss.

USC has a top 5 defense, like Alabama and Florida does. Dunno if THE best but definately one of the best.

We would probably give up a few 1st downs against those teams, but no way are they scoring in the 30's or anything like that.
