Maybe this is why Ainge does trades so well. Because of the implication:

Yeah and the Lakers first offer was an embarrassment. And what has that grown to now? Why does Ainge have to play his best card now?

I said the first lal offer was not good but a wash with Boston's best potential offer

This Lal offer is now pretty good and better than what Boston will be give you. Eg, not Tatum

Wow it's almost like we won't have all of the full offers until after the draft lottery, which is what we've been saying. fricking idiots.

Not really. NYK still have a better offer at this point.

You don’t know what they will give. They can’t make a trade yet. Why not wait until they can? It cost us nothing!

Or because Boston want the Pels to delay, and does not want to include Tatum. If they can trigger a delay by implying without committing, they win on both ends.

Correct, but the notion that other teams won't force the Celtics to drive up the price of getting AD is foolish.

I feel like Lakers fans think this all happens in a vacuum, that if the deal doesn't happen before the deadline, only the Celtics will be able to trade with us and we will just have to take whatever they offer us.

After the season is over and its clear that they Pelicans aren't giving in to Klutch, things open up and more teams are involved.

The offers are likely to be more, not less. All of the "less" talk is from Klutch trying to push the deal NOW.

Reasons to do this deal now:

A. NONE
B. Not one.
C. Nada
D. All of the above

If the Pelicans deal AD before the lottery and the Knicks wind up with the top pick, I'm seriously washing my hands of NBA in NO.

I do not understand why you continue singling our Lakers fans like we do not understand how trades or the salary cap works tbh. Go look at r/nba, which is heavily anti-Lakers, and the majority of that sub is shitting all over Dell Demps and the Pels right now, with many of them calling their front office incompetent and blaming Davis wanting to leave on their incompetence.

I don’t recall any of us otb acting like that towards the Pels outside of Mr Perfect, who is clearly trolling and still getting bites. Imo jmo

I feel like Pels fans say this, but never identify other teams, what they have that makes it worthwhile, and why they'd want to give that up for AD.

There's this idea of the offseason bidding war, but AD's willingness to extend influences that. Additionally, most of the teams that can afford AD can't do so and keep a potential championship core intact.

I guess this is centered around the idea that if the Lakers can find somebody else in FA, that they wouldn’t be able to afford AD in 2020.

Yup.

It's

a) nyk with Zion and then trading that pick to the pels (this is like 5%)

b) bostons "picks" with brown/tatum which they will never give up esp if Kyrie leaves (10%)

C) bucks can give the pels...a back rub? Im not even sure.

D, etc) ?

So come on pels. I'm not even trolling dudes. I just don't see how you're so confident here. But I'm willing to be convinced otherwise with data/math/logic
