Based on every indiciation the Pelicans have been given, Danny Ainge and the Celtics are not scared off by any of the Anthony Davis reports and fully plan to go after AD this summer.
As long as that’s true, I find it hard to believe this saga ends by Thursday.

It just doesn't matter without context. If they "go after" AD by offering Smart and Hayward, does it matter they waited.
It's back to what I've said the Pels have to consider...are they getting the best they can? If they can get a lot from the Lakers and the Celts aren't committed on Tatum or picks, why risk it?
