Once barbe went to the pen it was all over too many bats in the lineup for IMG and the Japanese pitcher they brought has a filthy curve...

Barbe was working Franco but that Japanese kid… filthy. Barbe had jd on strict count and didn’t want to use Lawton as they will need both for other games in the tourney
That is the first ace barbe has gotten to. It was small ball but worked. Having best player and hitter out and Jordan having stitches hurts too. Barbe has a lot of talent every year but mainly 2 max kids going to sec type schools. Img has like 9 or 10. Was not impressed with Franco though for him to be considered #3 overall and #1 pitcher. Slider was filthy but control was all over the place.
Big Sam Houston had a hell of a day in the big tournament in Georgia. Beat nationally ranked #14 trinity out of Jacksonville and then beat lambert out of Georgia who is big power over there 6-1.
Sulphur beat st Aug 5-4 on walk off
St Louis beat acadiana 5-0

We got out of Suarez for the first time all year and went back to back jacks at Shaw… Bryce Wilson picked up win #3

Barbe wont win district this year IMO. Too thin pitching.

no idea why they were saying that. everyone on that team is from LC. Diego originally from out the country, Lawton littleton grew up in sulphur but the rest been in LC forever playing together.
but barbe has the pitching to win district they actually have more than sam houston and sulphur. sulphur has their ace and nothing else really, SH has 2 pretty good kids and hebert has come a long ways but they lost their ace for the year. Barbe has Diego as their ace who should be able to handle anything in disctrict, JD has some of the best stuff in the state but can be all over the map...he is the wild card big time, and then littleton
but you are right they are thin. No real depth behind those starters besides the other freshman. gonna have to develop some if they want to win state because cant depend on your starters to go super deep in every single game. Understand barbe has seen IMG, Flower Mound, Live Oak and concordias ace where the other teams from the area that played them didnt.
Catholic beat Helena, AL yesterday 4-1 and plays Madison Ridgeland Academy out of madison ms today at 4:45. they still have chance to win their bracket. you can find it here

in district they play enough games against their rivals they cant every time. thats what i meant. same with playoffs
and not everyone has the #1 ranked pitcher in the country like IMG, a TCU commit like flower mound (both ran it to 93) or a guy that can pound the corners in mid 80s with a deadly slider like Live oak did. plus in the LO game, barbe pounded the ball, just right at people.

St. Thomas Aquinas had their head coach and a player ejected last night against Zachary in Sulphur. They were given a courtesy warning followed by an official warning for improperly wearing the wristband that contains plays. On the third violation, the head coach and player that violated were ejected.

Oh I agree. I’d hate to see EA baseball become irrelevant, and it kind of looked like they could go down that path. Kade will prevent that from happening and I’m glad to see them winning early on in the season.
