Until they move to the Big XII to get some hair on their chest during the regular season they’ll never win it all

Annual Laugh At Gonzaga Thread

Nah, I'm good. This wasn't supposed to be one of their better teams and they still made Elite 8.

I think this is more about UConn than Gonzaga.

Laugh at the thread on the board calling them great the other day. Same ole Gonzaga, get favorable seeding based on a nothing schedule and get run out of the gym the first time they face a contender. It’s laughable that people think they’re elite.

Don't worry, Timme will return for his 11th year next year and they will back.

Uh, what?

They played Texas, Kentucky, Purdue, Baylor, Alabama and Michigan State.

Like how you left out part of that statement. Very dishonest indeed.

Nothing about your statement was accurate or made any sense High seeding based on a nothing schedule? What are you talking about?

Run out of gym first time they face a real contender? They won by double digits against the #1 overall seed.

I mean, they just excel at the worst sport to excel at in terms of “success”

College basketball is a joke. Yes, it’s exciting as a casual fan with no skin in the game. But “March Madness” success involves so much more than just being a great team.

It’s not crowing the best or deepest team, it’s crowning a winner of chaotic tournament of travel and quick turnarounds and sporadic seeding mixed in with terrible officiating (which can one off make or break any game by itself)

Any team can run into a buzz saw in one game. Any team can have a star player get in foul trouble in a single game. Any team can just go cold from the field in one game. None of it really means anything not in a series format

I feel bad for anyone who is a die hard college basketball fan, because it’s just truly not fun. Way better to casually watch games because then it’s fun as shite

Lmao you’re talking about November games, some of them week 2 games. They didn’t beat any #1 seed in the tourney and they can’t beat a contending team.

Gonzaga has been called “Elite” and “Blue Blood” by this board constantly. Punching down to barely escape UCLA with help doesn’t warrant a ticker tape parade for an elite or blue blood level team. You guys can’t keep calling them one thing then lowering the standards to what a pretty good team does and claiming it’s validation.
