I’m no expert but recall that during the Matt araiza case that her being underage had a component of her representing she was in college and of age that could potentially get him cleared of the statutory piece

The Araiza case was about evidence, or lack thereof, that he or any of the accused, engaged in any sexual activity with the accuser. At least from I recall.

No idea about California, but in many states sleeping with a minor is one of the few criminal acts that don’t require intent. You can be in a 21+ establishment, she could have an ID that says 25 and she could even look 30, if she is in actuality under the age of consent then that’s a crime
Even calling Josh Giddey a pedo. It’s absolutely nuts.
