Al Sharpton "led" a rally in DC the other day, where the most noteworthy chant was:

"What do we want?"

"Dead cops!"

"When do we want them?"

"Now!"

actually, that chant was heard at an NYC protest. Fox News just lumped it in with a clip from Rev. Al's DC rally. since we're talking about "bogus" and "narratives" and all.

So did the douche with the 2nd post in this thread get banned, or just his post deleted? Hopefully the former.

Good job admins.

His name is Andrew... There is a "W" at the end of his name... I see you are once again blinded by your color vision... But I can agree with you on this interview because Hawkins chose to stand up for victims who were actually victims that were wronged by police. What he and Watson said, and the way they articulated their thoughts, is what I respect a lot.

My big question though to all parties is... Is gun safety, for any and all types, not taught any more? I do sincerely believe in both instances here the cops could have used much more intelligent discretion to assess the situation, but both young men did not use much intelligent discretion themselves in choosing to play with a firearm in public. My father told me at a young age, even airsoft/paintball/BB guns, are to be treated and handled like a deadly weapon, and in the event anybody is approach me about them, I am to drop them on the floor and declare it is non lethal. Both parties could have done better in both of these situations. I just hope people can learn from every single one of these instances and learn to be smarter in the future.

First off, why the frick was this kid allowed to run around and wave THAT toy around and why was he putting it in and out of his pants? That shite looks exactly like a real gun. Wtf parents?! And I've been around 100s of people with guns. Uhm, why is he stashing it in his pants like that? I've never seen a standup citizen stash his or her gun that way. This kid has had some shite role models or watched too many movies :/

Wtf cops. You just shot someone without ANY assessment of the situation!! Ok, so they shot him because he had a gun. Well then why the frick did they cruise up and park right in front of him?!?!?! They murdered him. If he's so dangerous that you have to blow him away IMMEDIATELY after stepping out of your car then why the frick was it a good idea or safe to pull right up to him? fricking cops murdered him. all around

Why don't athletes speak out about cops mistreating whites or Hispanics or any other race? This is all a police issue right? Or is it just a black issue?

No irony here, stand up for something that is an actual problem. Soldiers dying, high rate of abortions, a government that lies constantly, street crime, single parent homes, etc.

Standing up for a kid whose parents should be in jail is nothing more than publicity stunt. What's really fricked is any sane person would have shot the kid also in the same situation, not just this police officer. If this kid had better parents, he would most likely still be alive today.

STOP PLACING BLAME ON EVERYONE ELSE AND LOOK AT WHERE THE PROBLEM REALLY LIES.

Brown - Criminal, didn't rob that store would still be alive.

Garner - Arrested numerous times for breaking the law. Resisted getting arrested again for same crime he kept committing.

Rice - Parents should have never let their kid play with a gun that had the all the safety features torn off. Bad parenting leads to the worst thing that could ever happen, a child's life taken.

In all three of these instances ignorant people want to place blame on everyone except the real problem.

Another police Union demands an apology. They might want to hire some pr firms because they are doing it wrong. That only makes you look worse when you act small like that.

You can't be serious.

Mark Wahlberg went on a racist rant as a kid beating up minorities and getting arrested. So genius by your logic he should have been killed by the police?

And if a cop is incapable of stopping a kid then what is the point of protecting and serving?

What about the other guy on the shirt? The one who was basically executed in Walmart? Just stop with the profiling.

Here is an instance where someone brought weapons in a local chipotle that had the magazine fed. Maybe they should have been shot too instead of being told to leave.

Wrong, you dumbass hick. The rest of us would have taken caution and not drove up right to a potential gunman. The 'officer' (who was dismissed from a previous force for emotional instability) shot the kid within 2 seconds of leaving the car. You're the only dumbfrick on here defending this.

you do realize cops aren't there to save you from being jacked right? They come after and write a report and it gets buried in files never to be seen again. When seconds count, cops are minutes away.

I have zero problem with this interview or his stance in this particular case, i just think he should have addressed it just as he did in the speech, using his voice as a platform. So the problem i have is, with all the anger and flat out scary opposition to police right now, i think the T-shirt comes across as anti-police an inflamatory....thats every bit as dangerous in my opinion! Yes, once you hear him speak and address the issue, it comes across as sincere, towards both sides of the debate, but i just think that it was piling on, on an already volitile issue in this country. Its a tough issue and side to be on in America right now for sure!
In a perfect world, I agree. The problem is his name has no clout in the sports world, so no one would care what he said if he didn't do the t-shirt thing, no matter how really great his words were. It took the t-shirt for him to get noticed.
