Both the Big Ten and Pac-10 suffer from the Big One and the Nine (Ten) Dwarves syndrome. I have no faith in Cal to live up to expectations. About the only team that plays hard nosed football other than SC is Oregon St, and they have a talent problem.
It's not SC's fault the rest of the conference has been unable to raise their game. But Oregon's display last night was pitiful. They were lucky not to lose by 30.

Ah come on might as well prep the bus for a trip to Pasadena, so which Big 10 team you want to beat the crap out of this year?
The same one they will beat on the 12th...by the end of the season they will stomp them in their own house....LOL!

Cal was picked second in the Pac 10. Tedford still hasn't beaten Carroll in the big game so until they do I don't believe it. We will see.....I also think its unfair to compare the Big 10 to the Pac 10. Last nights game was a travesty, but they did lose to a team that is good. It was completely embarassing but Oregon has never put up an egg like that in the last 15 years. The Pac 10 is better and will prove it with a multiple of games scheduled. Oregon will bounce back (they fricking better) and beat Purdue. Cal will beat Minny, SC will beat OSU. I know there is a couple of more games as well.

Its not my fault they didnt' show up...is it? I also said I would not be surprised to see Boise St. win....didn't I? Yes I did.....I give them a lot of respect. There are a lot of good BCS teams that would lose there. Agree? They have proven it.

I remember USC losing to someone in 2003. Who was it?
Posted on 9/4/09 at 10:35 am to bamaatlsu
They lost to Cal 34-31...3 ot's
Posted on 9/4/09 at 10:39 am to LSUintheNW

He has but what I meant is in the big game....the one that meant the winner of the Pac 10. Not in a year where they had a record of 5-6 or something like that.

An Oregon team many thought would topple USC for the Pac 10
Shows no fight during the game & gets embarrassed on National Television. Then shows plenty of fight after the game & gets embarrassed on National Television.
Congrats on another Pac 10 title, Trojans.

I never thought Oregon was going to be in the PAC-10 hunt.
They have four new starters on the OL and three new starters in both the secondary and DL.
And a new head coach (I don't care if he has been on the staff-- completely different experience).
That does not make for a great start.
I have always thought Stanford was going to be the darkhorse in the league. Harbaugh has turned them into a bunch of grinders.
They can control the clock and wear down an opponent.
I think Stanford, and not Cal, has a shot of beating 'SC.
Cal has only averaged 12 points a game against USC since Tedford's been the HC at Cal. I think my Trojan coaches have a good understanding of stopping the Cal offense (that's why Cal tried to hit HRs all game at the Coliseum last year; not their typical gameplan).
We'll see...

not legitimizing the conference. More so that USC has some serious holes and Cal has playmakers

They may get handed yet another title, but showings like this on national tv definitely are cause for concern for the Trojans. Humiliations like this leave very negative thoughts in the voters minds, and with another one on the way saturday night in Washington, the PAC10 will look extremely weak top to bottom early on to the national audience.

In Oregons defense they can't open with Mississippi State every year.
