Oneywu is great in the air but has no techincal skills on the ground.

if you will, please give me your definition of technical skills and instances where he's had lapses in technique (I don't mean specific games/dates, just vignettes in your memory, really).

I played ODP. My out of date soccer skills are far greater. Thus my soccer knowledge is also superior. to me

I even played in a real soccer state.

Onyewu is the man and I'm glad to seem him with a big club. He's not going to be a superstar or anything, but he's a solid player.

You want to play pal?

Seriously you guys are fricking idiots with this shite, so what If I dont think he is any good?
It is my opinion, the guy when under pressure cant play a square ball to someones feet to save his life. One bad giveaway in the back can lead to one goal and a loss. Teams will play to his weakness and start playing crossing balls on the ground.

Props for standing up for yourself and owning up to having an unpopular opinion.

Certain other posters around here lack that level of character...

DID I frickING SAY THAT HE DID THAT?
NO I DIDNT!

I said he cant play a square ball or a ball out of the back to someones feet with any consistency. This will lead to giving away a ball in the back and a loss.

Reading comprehension, heard of it?

By definition, and opinion is neither true nor false.

True, but in the kid's defense, he showed up on this thread and is taking his lumps.

I don't agree with him, but I admire the spirit.

Dood u need to invest in some hooked on phonics in a major way. Did your mommy not read bedtime stories to you when you were on the tit?

HE DOES NOT play balls out of the back to peoples feet thus giving away possession a majority of the time. This usually happens in the midfield, but when it happens in the back third you can bet your arse the opposition is going to capatalize on it. Comprende Ese?

you probably completely agreed with that commercial with kids smoking marijuana and then firing guns at one another.

There are times I absolutely despise American soccer fans. Then again, the moron seems to be in the minority. Gooch is a bulwark on defense and an imposing physical presence in the middle. He also has a great head and can be lethal on set pieces in the other end.

But, by all means, nitpick on the things he doesn’t do well, even if it’s a small part of his job. This is how losers think: focusing on what a player can’t do instead of what he can do. Sure, Gooch lacks “technical skills” in that he’s not a ball control wizard. To which the proper reply is, “who friggin cares if he does everything else well?”
