Joker has that rare trait of making the pace of the game slow to him rather than him trying to keep pace.
Where he is is the center of gravity on the court. It’s wild to watch.

He's not really very marketable
He’s quite the character. If they can market Boban, Jokic can be a star.

Nobody plays like Joker. There is no comp. He kind of slides around until he gets into position. He doesn't aggressively post up and call for the ball.
He gets the ball in the high post and it looks like he's standing around until BOOM, he makes a bounce pass and someone scores.

If it wasn’t for Bird, Magic, and MJ. Lebron may have chosen another sport. Those guys revolutionized the NBA into the super league they are for played today. I def have Bird over Lebron.

Yes and the MLB has lost popularity and been overtaken by the NBA as the 2nd most popular sport when baseball used to be king

It also has to do with the gradual development arc to his game and career. Most of the transcendent nba greats are elite almost immediately. Magic, Bird, Jordan, Lebron, Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan, etc. were great practically from the opening tip. There aren’t whole seasons worth of film on those guys being anything but elite.
Guys like Giannis, Steph, and Jokic who take a little longer to arrive have a longer narrative to change. But it eventually happens with wings.
Also this. NBA loves to talk about the unicorn big. Well you are looking at him in Jokic. A 30 point triple double playoff average has no comp (I think?), and I think his best basketball is still in front of him. He is a true nba big who dominates the game from every inch in the court, with and without the ball in his hands.
