AHSAA rules pertain to off season workouts

This could apply to all other high schools in other states but here is the question? A stands for Alabama.
Can A HS coach work with players during the off season pertaining to their sport. I am not talking about conditioning and weight training.
For instance, a HS baseball coach is involved in travel ball and has 3-4 players on his HS team on the travel team. Can a HS tennis coach take a few players under his wings and hit with them during the summer months? can a HS softball coach get 8-10 girls together at the field and hit them grounders? Just a few examples. Back in the day this was against state HS rules.

I know for aau basketball in arkansas. If you coach, you have to have one kid on the team from a different school district.
However, if you aren't affiliated with the school you can coach the h.s. team as a aau team.
Im not sure how practicing is regulated.
Makes no sense.

In Mississippi, we have the 60% rule in most sports where at no time can a team be fielded that 60% or more is made of one school team. i.e. three basketball starters, four volleyball, etc. Olympic sports are much less scrutinized because team format can be a single individual.

Probably okay if it’s voluntary… but if attendance is compelled or required it might be defined as a practice and against state rules

In GA, a rule was passed that you cannot coach at a HS that has any players from the club where you coach regardless of sex or if you even coach them.
For example, if I coach club soccer at Rome FC, I cannot coach soccer at any HS that has Rome FC players enrolled and playing on the HS team whether or not I coach them directly. Let’s say I coach boys’ club; I can’t coach boys or girls at any HS that has a boys or girls Rome FC player enrolled and on the roster.

We’ve got a few around who know the rule book but in the past/present(baseball) the coaches would coach the summer teams, more recently many are part of organization that the players paid. These teams were all from the same school.. this has been used by coaches to supplement income along with camps which they staff with players.

In Louisiana we have "Metro" baseball where your high school team can play together and practice on weeknights.
I believe (but not 100% positive) that the LHSAA will not allow a high school coach to coach a travel team that has more than 4 players from their school on it.

TN has different offseason practice rules for different sports… in baseball coaches can provide individual instruction to 5 students a day max, up until the first day of official practice.
In track and field, there are no real limits on off-season practice.
ETA I may be confusing off-season with preseason.

Not sure if it has changed, but back in the dark ages when I was in high school in Alabama, for football the rule was something vague. Offseason workouts were fine, and we did weights and conditioning a few mornings or afternoons a week during the summer. But a coach could not be around if there was a ball involved.
Some coach in our region got in trouble for being on the field while there were 7 on 7 drills going on. Perfectly fine if the guys on the team wanted to use the practice field, but no coach could be there. I think we had 15 days that were allowed for spring practices, and fall practice could start 3-4 weeks prior to the first game and was limited to maybe 10 or 15 practices in pads. You could do two-a-days but only one could be contact and in pads. But all practices, regardless of pad level, each player had to have a helmet on.

7v7 you can only have so many from one school. Allegedly. If competing as a 7v7 team and not your HS team. Other than that, you can pretty much practice year round other than the dead period for a few days in the Sunmer. As long as you don’t have pads…it’s legal. You could literally practice year round in shirts and shorts for football.
