well getting rid of gary earlier wasn't quite an option, there was definitely a want to do it though.

The Co-DCs I actually understood at the time for continuity purposes. Mallory was the true DC and was just completely unready for the role.

Or how about the holding on to gary for one year too long thing?

Gary Crowton's buyout was too big for TAF to pay. Remember that Belowpar felt that Crowton would be let go, but then it didn't happen. Miles wanted to pull the trigger after 2009, but they had to wait for the contract to runout, or at least the buyout decrease. In 2010, Miles strongly handcuffed Crowton (not that there's anything wrong with that).

he's not even a good runner. i don't even know if he's mediocre. i know i can't be the only person who see this

he had me converted earlier when we were trying to kill teams early, but then we just started playing to keep it close

i was like, fricking finally, THIS is what we've all been wanting to see. i had not one complaint

Yeah I wouldn't say he's bad at it, but when its supposed to be your biggest strength and its not even that great of an asset, you've got trouble.

Basically, everything you want in your QB JJ didn't have.

Accuracy? Nah.
Arm strength? Not terrible, but see #1.
Mobile? Yes but far from elite.
Mechanics? AWFUL
Yeah but he's got to be a good leader, right? Nah.

i wasn't even upset that we weren't throwing it a lot. i mean lee was our QB

but we were going out to murder teams and then destroy their will in the 2nd half

we get punched in the mouth once at bama and it's back to coaching scared and praying for an outlier big play (not on offense)

Now why would the LSU administration not nominate Jarrett Lee who started 9 games this year?

What are your theories?

I used to argue this on the rant back in the day. I feel he's a good scrambler, but he's never been elusive in the open field. He had one run vs Tennessee that a freshman db from Clinton, nervous as could be, flat out whiffed while Jefferson didn't even make a move. Now, this year, when he first came back, he ran hard. He didn't run with a fear of injury. I always felt that he avoided contact way too much cause he felt that he was the starter and couldn't let the team down by getting hurt. When Lee was the starter, JJ ran hard. Starting with WKU, Jefferson's running went back to slide at the first defender mode, or find the sidelines.

yup

and no jefferson isnt a great runner. he's pretty fast for his size, but he's always looked awkward and uncomfortable running

randall could have run this offense OK. dude wasn't good at all but he tried his arse off and once in a blue moon he had some killer games (that one against arky was boss level good). as simple as this offense was, i think he would have calmed down a bit

I think Les was always protecting Jefferson's tender ego. Les wouldn't let Lee gain an award while Jefferson was left with nothing. Les was always pumping Jefferson's ego, see Spring MVP Award.

Not my opinion, but I heard that Les, or LSU, is scared of a potential lawsuit from the Jefferson family over the suspension. But that doesn't explain Les' love affair with Jefferson pre-Shady's.

And Jefferson closed on the ball carrier pretty quick after the shovel pass.
