I get making Bama prove they could stop the option, and they did. Was there no plan B?

Which is why you try to get Miles to answer these questions and criticisms as soon as possible after the game, because you'll get his raw babble

lol, and Lee did well enough to win on top of being the highest rated QB in the SEC during his run

Oh don't get me wrong. I completely agree.

Hell, i didn't even agree with bringing JJ on to run the QB sneak into the endzone his first play back. There was no need for him to be playing. LSU was doing just fine without him behind center. Just like LSU needed a spark in the first game against Bama (Jefferson) ... they could have used a spark in the second game against Bama. (Lee?)

I'm not saying Lee would have done better, but at least TRY. shite, Miles ran the clock in the 4th quarter like we were up big.

Or get his thoughts before his handlers have time to come up with something brilliant that will appease everybody, are you really trying to say Les is that fragile?

I see what you're saying. I just disagree. I don't think you're going to get the best answers when everyone is heated after a huge loss.

I said it to "hey why not bring him back crowd?" and I'll continue to see.....Bringing him back was only going to prove disruptive to team chemistry and judging from the post game fiasco I was correct.

It was a mistake

To even let it enter your mind was a mistake, but then you'll have the "without JJ we lose at bama" crowd...without JJ, JL doesn't start looking over his shoulder

I'd imagine it was a very lonely ride home....I can tell you RR isn't a fan from my conversation with him at the bar after.

I've been out of it but whats up with BVG leaving the falcons for auburn?

i was in the "no fricking way he should play" crowd, then moved to the "it's ok if they run a couple packages with him per game" crowd

i still think it wouldnt be a bad idea to insert him, run around a little bit, etc., but obviously lee is the starter and takes the vast majority of the snaps

it started out working pretty well, but it just became very obvious very quick that Les was working him back into the starting role. worst mistake of Les' coaching career

was there any reason given for him leaving the NFL to come back to college? If he wanted to return, seems like he could have gotten a HC gig rather easily.

I hope he's not there long.

for some reason i think he was told to find another job, so he was like "frick the NFL" and went back to the SEC

I'll never be able to wrap my head around the Les-JJ relationship. I fully expect JJ to be our next QB coach...

if randall doesn't get serious PT at QB the next few years i really will be scratching my head

if les wants a mobile kid, then OK, it makes some sense. if we roll out mett and keil the next 5 years then my mind will be blown

Is the JJ thing worse than the Co-DC thing? Or how about the holding on to gary for one year too long thing?

yea, i kept saying i cant believe les is doing this. i was utterly shocked that he was really going down with jj in the NC game like that

anyway, speaking of van gorder to auburn...schottenheimer to bama would be good news

I like that a lot of td.com regulars are in this thread, and I've been waiting to pull this out one day. I figured it deserved its own thread, but I'll get some good responses out of this group...

Did you notice the LSWA All-Louisiana Team? The first team qb was the kid from ULL. The second team qb was from ULM. No quarterbacks were listed as honorable mention. Do you know how the sports writers compile a list of candidates for each spot? The SID's office from each school nominates their players. Do you know who LSU sent in as their QB nomination? NOBODY! Do you think the sports writers would have put Jarrett Lee on the first or second team based off of his season against the competition he faced over the two Sun Belt quarterbacks? You can bet your life he'd have made at least 2nd team.

Now why would the LSU administration not nominate Jarrett Lee who started 9 games this year?

i don't think he was given the money to fire gary

i'll give him a pass on the co-DC thing b/c he did fix it after 1 year

miles insistence on running his anti-offense is starting to wear thing. he had me converted earlier when we were trying to kill teams early, but then we just started playing to keep it close

we're not always going to be able to rely on a huge ST/Defensive play
