I think the main problem is who makes the call, and what qualifications are they using. There would surely be a high number of athletes who would like and feel they are able to skip the three year rule but how do you determine who is truly ready?

We? To whom are you referring?

The NFL doesn't want those young kids...even the physically mature ones. It's bad for the league and would disrupt the almost perfect system they have in place with respect to the college game and the NFL draft.

Forcing the NFL and its players association to adjust its rules is wrong. It's bad for business and the current players in the league.

He'd also have 3 more years of taking NFL hits and probably be retired by now

No way, CB might be the hardest position to make the jump sans QB. Think about going from covering some honkey from west Monroe do covering Julio and Calvin back to back weeks

I'm pretty sure that I made a distinction when I was in high school.

He got hurt playing in college, his body was not ready for the bashing in the NFL at 18

Fournette may be ready for the NFL now

I do feel like I could have came out my senior year of high school and played in the NFL.
But he wasn't ready last year and certainly not out of high school. I can't see AP ready out of high school either.

How many players can we realistically even discuss as ready to play in the NFL out of high school? Maybe 5 in the history of the NFL?

Not a chance... You know how much faster the NFL is than college, and how much faster college is than high school...

Dude is full of himself... He wouldn't have been prepared for what would have hit him....

I think he broke his collar bone somersaulting into the endzone. So really more of a freak injury.

I dont understand why this bends so many people out of shape. Thousands of professions have barriers to entry. For example, I am a CPA. In order to work in public accounting, one must have a degree. Now, there are people plenty smart enough at 18 to be an accountant right then. However, like the NFL, there is a bridge they must cross first

As opposed to taking college hits? He had 339 rushing attempts in 13 games as a rookie at Oklahoma
