Are you more let down with these scandals that keep popping up or all of the broken promises made before the first election? Personally if I elect a president because he's going to bring the troops home, I'm gonna be pissed when he reverses his position 6 months into office.

Most people aren't against civil unions. Hell I'm not, it would actually create more of a family environment in the gay community which is what I think most Christians find lacking. They just don't want to be forced to marry people in their church who's beliefs differ with theirs.

Kinda like they wouldn't want to marry two muslims together in their church.

I'll give you credit for calling out Obama, but perhaps you can provide the same amount of outrage that you are doing in this instance.

Definitely the scandals. I think we all knew that there was no way a President can just unilaterally do all the stuff he promised. It wasn't really about that it was about the vision he ran on.

I'm tired of reporters asking these athletes their opinion on the subject then getting upset when the athlete's opinion don't match theirs.

Leave that shite out of interviews and just talk to them about sports. Let CNN talk about gay marriage.

Good for Adrian Peterson. I just became an AP fan. Glad he stood up for what is right.

I am a mexican from san jose, california who went to the same law school as you did.(Just a few years earlier) I am also a die hard 49er fan. I have a gay sister and support gay marriage. I disagree with the legal argument you are making. Which box does that put me in? Uneducated southern redneck, bigot, or just full of hate? Im having trouble figuring out which of your oh so tolerant "labels" applies to me.

Although I may disagree with him, I didn't find the manner in which he said it to be that bothersome.

I'm glad they mentioned his relationship with Kluwe, even though differed on the issue.

I don't agree with AP, but I respect what he said and more importantly how he said it.

Personally, I find it very hard to believe he truly loves and cares for his "gay relatives" yet doesn't wish them the same basic human rights afforded to him, me, and other heterosexuals.

I still think he is a class act, a phenomenal football player, and a man with his own beliefs and it's his right to have them.

Though I don't agree with him, nor think he should use his platform to discuss political issues that don't impact him.

So you can't love someone and disagree with their lifestyle?

I think your post was solid, this just kind of seems out of place.

disagreeing with something that is completely natural and saying they shouldn't have rights that everyone else has doesn't imply true love

When I think of loving someone, I think it is letting them do what makes them happy and being happy for them.

Of course I don't mean in a destructive way, like loving a family member who loves drugs, alcohol, or other vices.

Loving another consenting adult isn't something that should be disapproved of.

I don't think Peterson will be picketing his cousin's wedding. He can have his personal beliefs and still love someone.

You grow up with someone and have a life-long relationship filled with love. You find out that they are gay as an adult...you honestly think that someone is not capable of loving that person even though they believe marriage should be between man and women? I don't see how someone with this thought process can call someone else simple minded.

I respect AP's opinion on this, it takes guts in this day and time to make the stand he's made, especially in Minnesota. However, I'm of the opinion that as long as It's a human. One should be allowed to marry whoever...
