A single or double elimination tourney before regular season starts. Do this instead of meaningless preseason games.

Isn’t them changing the way the Chase was set up a big part of why NASCAR sucks now?
So, my crazy idea:
Everyone plays 82 games. Eight in division, two out of division.
All Star Game determines which conference will have home court in Finals.
Cut to Eight per conference, Each Division’s first and second places, then two wildcards. Reset the standings. Each conference plays round robin, two games against each other (14 games, a guaranteed seven more home games for every team vs an average of 3).
Cut to Top Two per conference, playing one off tiebreakers for ties. Best of Seven Series, winners play in Best of Seven Final.
First Round Draft picks go out only to teams that missed the Top 8. Every team gets a second round pick, based on record for the last five years. All picks are for the draft after the next draft.

That probably has more to do with GS then the 82 games. I think after the lock out season they really looked into all the back to backs they had teams playing and they cut into that by a good bit.

I personally think they should have some type of tournament for the lottery teams and the winner gets first pick. Also, they need to cut down from 82 games. Like baseball, it’s too long and you already see teams resting their star players

Not sure I like this, but I applaud him for at least admitting he's thinking outside the box.

While we are following the European Soccer model, let add relegation. Last place team plays first place g league team for the last slot the following year. Winner goes to lottery as well.

So a g-league tourney. Sounds real fun

I think a tournament is a great idea. Not mid season though. Hell, I’d like to see the MLB do something similar, but logistically I don’t see it happening.
I’m not an Adam Silver fan by any means, but like someone said, he is thinking outside the box.
