Seeing as how Greg Jennings is probably out for the rest of the season and the Packers pretty much having wrapped up 1st seed in the NFC I don't see Rodgers being as prolific in the remaining games. Any chance Drew Brees or Tom Brady make a late rally for MVP honors?

Unlikely. Rodgers has been a machine (with good personnel around him), I don't see MVP going to anyone else.

Brees breaking Marino's 27 year old record & finishing 13-3 would have a legit chance.

But, Rodgers may break it also (but still be 2nd to Brees) so that would devalue what Brees did. Either way, I find it hard to give it to anyone else other than the best QB on the best team in the league.

Brady is going to break Marino's record too I believe.

Yep with the way the league has become a passing league I think that record will be passed over several times. The rules now make it almost impossible for DB's to stop a WR.

There is no way on earth, heaven, or hell that Aaron Rogers is not the MVP.

IMHO people misuse the term MVP

Rodgers is clearly having the best year of any player -- but is he really the most valuable? More valuable to his team than Brees? Eli? Or yes, even Tebow?

Tebow has the most concise argument

1-4 without
7-1 with

Seems pretty VALUABLE

dude has them beat in passer rating by ~20 pts. It's not like their D is that great. The offense is so good that the other team has to take chances to score pts on every possession. Rodgers is the MVP and it's not close... amazing as that can be said with the record setting performances by brees and brady.

this is an interesting question bc when you think mvp you think 1-stats 2-most important player for their team. to me, if brees breaks the record, that stat alone will trump any stat that rogers will beat brees in bc it is such a profoun number. saying that, both rogers and brees are the most important player on their team, unlike tebow. if green bay stays unbeaten through the regular season, the only way brees wins the mvp is if the saints beat them in the playoffs at green bay, if not, its rogers all the way.

I think 2 not 1

yards is the most overrated passing stat

voting is done before the playoffs

Rogers is MVP. He may go down as being the best ever if he keeps his current pace up. We have had the joy of watching Brady, Manning, Brees, & Roethlisberger in their prime over the past 10 years.

The previous 10 years had Montana, Young, Favre, Elway, and Aikman. All of which are HOF's.

If Rogers goes undefeated this year, then makes a helluva run next year and wins 3 in a row, he may just go down as being the best QB ever.

Yards isn't nearly as important as some other stats for a QB

didnt realize voting is done before the playoffs. saying that, i think yardage per game and per season IS the stat looked at the most. i back that statement with how many times do you see quarterback stats starting with how many yards per game and how many yards per season. when a qb is highlighted, they start with total yards. its the most important stat. if its not, what is? passer rating??? pleease.

YPA, rating, and TD/INT ratio are all more important than yards
