I thought he would regress because of history. Most players have a down year after a rookie year as the league learns them. Also high k guys have a tendency to be streaky and I thought he might would k more this year leading to fewer hot streaks. I like the guy so I’m glad he is doing well.

The Yankees are different this year as opposed to the past...the squad is loaded with exciting young talent and they are, for the most part, a very likable group. I’m the biggest Yankee hater there is, but I hate this team significantly less.

Wait until they get healthy

Bird and Drury are the only ones out and they've essentially become bench players....

Now pitching they've lost Warren, Montgomery, and Kahnle

Bird is not a bench player and Clint Frazier played a ton last year and will help vs lefties. 3 pitchers is a lot. Ellsbury can fill in.

Austin has been playing well, both offensively and defensively. No reason to remove him for the man made of glass

Andujar has been pretty terrible the last week or so. He still needs to work on his plate discipline. I could see him getting sent down for Drury.

Same for Austin, he’s been terrible since his suspension.

And I don’t get Boone’s love for Hicks. He’s been a bad offensive player his entire career besides a couple months last year. I like his defense in CF, but I could definitely see him losing some play time when Frazier gets healthy.

Last two weeks Anujar is still hitting .261/.277/.326, he was hot for awhile and I could see being sent down because he has options left, I don't think he deserves it and should continue to cut his teeth in the majors.
Hicks has struggled all year but I don't think Frazier replaces him and Austin has struggled since his return but again, Bird can't stay healthy and hasn't been productive when healthy lately.
Drury not sure what they will do, read earlier that Walker has been getting reps at 3B so Andujar is most likely headed down.

Andujar in his last 10 games is .189/.211/.189 with 0 XBH and 1 RBI.

Small sample size, but he only has 3 walks in over 120 PA. It would be almost impossible to be a successful hitter with a walk rate that low. Dude has serious pop and I can’t wait til he figures it out, but he could use some more time in the minors IMO.

It’s a good problem to have. Walker seems to be turning the corner.

He needs to get with Didi and learn to take a walk from being a free swinger, he has a .270 avg with a .286 OBP if he isn't getting a base hit then he isn't on base. He has also shown he can handle third.
I think he would be better served staying in the majors rather than up/down/up/down that may happen.

Hahahahaha. Come on man, i know you’re not this dumb. Bird was projected to hit 30 hrs and is a MUCH better defensive 1st baseman. Also, Austin isnt playing THAT well.

The second bird is back on the roster hes the starting first baseman.

Projected, that doesn't mean he will, you know that. Austin has a lot of potential and I'm not even sure Bird would be a significant upgrade. Come on Bird has played less than 100 games in the last 3 years. I don't trust him nor do I think he should be "given" the spot when Austin has manned it well.
Yankees are playing well and no reason to tweak anything currently, ease Bird back into and if he gets hot ride him out.

If austin was tearing it up, maybe i would agree with you, but hes not. Plus, like i said, bird is a huge upgrade defensively over austin and walker. Almost every game theres a play thats missed that bird wouldve made. Bird will be the starting first baseman as long as he’s healthy (if/when that happens).

The suspension killed the momentum Austin was building, I hope he catches it again because I have no faith in Bird staying healthy over the course of the year.
